So I use them to work with solvents. But who knew that laundry detergent is more aggressive than turpentine. I have used powders for hand washing sails all my life, but this is the first time I have had such a reaction on my skin...

It's metal, but the base is plastic. I really like this one. I have older ones in Kyiv with a wooden base...

The rotary cutter seems to work well to cut the fabric and avoid pulling on the fibers with an X-acto. I should get one ))) Great work and fascinating to watch you work!! With the previous video you make me realize the importance of David Steel's volumes, I still need two... Take care of yourself and watch your hands!

Happy holidays! The sails looks excellent! Be carful to your hands, they are invaluable for you! You should wear some kind of (clinical) gloves. I do, when working with paint and terpentine. Otherwise, my skin reacts painfully as well.

The home depot in Massachusetts sells Turpentine in 1qt containers for $10.00. Klean strip brand. It's so fascinating to watch you work and the video quality is first rate! I must have missed it, I presume you were using a single, seam, stitch for most of this, yes? What "pitch" of machine stitch did you use? Any temptation to use any of the multiple-stitch settings on the machine?

I use the shortest possible stitch length. Unfortunately in model making you physically cannot use multi-needle due to the sewing order...

Olha, you needed to soak your hands in a baking soda mix regularly during the sail washing process!
