Same as the Genius Girl who is fixing every broken motor in China, the paint is the giveaway
@kenc3288 Жыл бұрын
Not the same, that so called genius girl never grinds crankshafts or replaces bearings, piston rings or seals, never checks bore diameters or hone cross hatching. Never checks crank journals for tolerance or condition. Her projects are just rudimentary clean and paint. She may amaze the unitiated but her work is just a rough patch up job and will not give satisfactory performance.

I don't know what country this gentleman resides in but that is besides the point. Ive seen alot of videos of these sorts and this just shows that people everywhere are not pulling apart something like in the states to collect or refurbish forever. They take things apart and repair out of nessasaty. This is why other countries that are not as fortunate as say the US have more skilled labor in many aspects. People should take note and think twice about throwing away that lawn mower or weed eater away so quickly. Maybe box it up and send it to these people. Maybe the landfills won't fill up so quickly.

The USA went through the era that is depicted in this video back in the twenties and thirties. Minus the power tools as there was no electric power. My grand father immigrated from Italy in 1898 looking for a better life and more opportunity. He found it but it wasn’t handed to him. He was a share cropper in the rural areas around Verona Italy. He farmed some here in the US and eventually became a plumber. He said the USA was “paradisio”. He and his fellow immigrants did well here in the US. Raising large families, starting businesses,buying and selling land, raising their children who also did fine. One of my aunts actually became quite wealthy in the scrap business. The USA is all about opportunities for anyone and everyone.

the thing is westerners do it differently as people pay more for a repair and we can get spare parts easily the easterners don't have that luxury that we take for granted yes I would build it differently as I can get the spare parts I would put the cab back on as well which is missing and yes i would do a complete rebuild on the engine at least re-ring it and hone the bores lap the valves new shell all around on the crank and the cam bearing surfaces looked worn out as well which need fixing but didn't fit a new oil pump and water pump radiator re-cored change all the hydraulic hoses as a lot looked suspect re-weld the pin holes on the arms and hone them out new pins and so on but that's us we are are not them they just want to get it working again as cheaply as they can
@AnthonyRBlacker Жыл бұрын
@@kinkong1961 kind of like putting lipstick on a pig. It's just a painted taken apart broken piece of shit put back together and not really fixed, just working-ish for now, but still worthless in a year. I don't see the point in going through ALL THAT WORK and NOT DOING IT RIGHT.
@candylikeno.186711 ай бұрын
@@AnthonyRBlacker, totally agree. There was a lot to deal with here. Gave up a bit when he put the old oil filter back on. Many hoses should have been replaced, in several places they were just painted over grease and rust. They could also take the time to clean the old seat they put in, it is the small details that do the difference.
@kenc3288 Жыл бұрын
This repair was quite thorough, but I did not see a tension wrench being used at all. The coupling between the engine flywheel and hydraulic pump was a Centaflex Series A and has been damaged by the oil that leaked on to it during operation, was swollen by the oil and definately should have been replaced. Anyway, that coupling is not the right solution, should have been a Centaflex H series coupling of the same size, torsionally much stiffer than the A series and is not affected by oil. I worked for Centa couplings for 20 years. Cheers.
