Are you serious? Cleaning engine block and head with wire brush? Not checking the plane? Reusing old cap bearings and rod bearings, old head bolts? This is beautiful? Not checking and adjusting piston rings gaps/clearance? Not checking the valve clearance after boring???? This is COMPLETE CRAP BUILD, I wont be surprised if this engine fails after couple of hours work....

Greetings from America. I have rebuilt or repaired a large number of engines. The engines I built were expected to produce equal to or better than original horsepower. Run at least has long and as reliably as a new engine. Use less fuel and oil while doing both. This bild depicted in this video will accomplish none of those things . It will run, but it will not last as long as it should. If you're going to do it, get a little more equipment and do it properly . For people that don't know what they're seeing, your video is wonderful for those of us who do know what should be done it is appalling .

@jakleo337 Жыл бұрын
Yes that is all true. Sandpaper and paint are the primary tools. In the details it is appalling. I suspect they only make money on the video, not the 'finished rebuild'.
@terrytenley9327 Жыл бұрын
I agree!
@TheMilwaukieDan Жыл бұрын
The fact is this… in first world countries there are ‘expectations’ of performance after repairing something. They are I am sure in this video expecting a finished product that performs and lasts longer than ‘new’. The just expect it to function. It’s a sand blaster…. If it blows sand and seems to ‘work’ they’re happy. If it breaks down in a month or year or two…. They’ll do it all over again.
@user-vy1hk6wx2w11 ай бұрын
A quick fix for a short period of time it will probably break down in time but at least you get what you put into it.

there are parts that should not have been painted, like the flywheel, and other parts that would normally bolt to a transmision. The radiator also should not have been painted, as it will make it less efficient at releasing heat. Nearly ever bolt on an engine should be torqued down to a specific foot pound setting and I did not see a torque wrench.

Does it really matter if it works at this point? It was destined for the scrapmetal pile to begin with. Even if they get a few hundred more hours of use out of it, it is better than sitting and rotting away. Also, of note, they are using a torque wrench, you can clearly see it at 1:27:00
