I watch these videos, not to admire the restoration process, but to admire the amount of effort these guys put into faking the item needing to be restored. The amount of rust, yet no metal pitting is amazing. The fact the gear box and face were in amazing shape, despite the shattered crystal (hint, it is no longer water proof once that crystal is destroyed, and the inside would have been rusted tight)

Amazing how much effort someone would put in bringing back to life a 10$ chinese-fake watch. And that's the point. A Vacheron Constantine, even in the initially shown condition would cost quite an amount of money. On the other hand, almost all Vacheron Constantine watches would have a native mechanical movement and not a plastic quartz one. And a mechanical movement would require a whole lot more of skill to restore.

It's the other way around. Buy a cheap new knock-off watch. Take some video of it being put together after dissembling it.... then cover it in mud , smash the crystal and pretend to find it. Take it to bits then throw it away. Then edit the video.

Ok don't see why everyone gets upset about how he finds stuff. He is just making content finding it isn't the point. Also is the watch a knock off or not isn't the point, it is in bad shape and he really did fix it. It is working again. From what I could see all parts were working again and most knock offs you're lucky it tells time with just stickers for the other bits. So good for him and fixing a good looking knock off.

This video appears to be fake. Reading comments from more experienced viewers, a Vacheron Constantine would be mechanical, not quartz-powered. Further, it's extremely rare to find such a watch. And, the watch is incredibly clean on the inside. Apparently, the watch was likely planted.

Ржавчина это то, что ржавеет! В ВОДОнепроницаемых часах ну аж никак не может быть ржавчине, как впрочем и во всем механизме. Кто-то умудрился разбить стекло и посчитал за лучшее просто их выкинуть. Настоящее стекло может стоить дорого и не везде его можно найти.

Old watches don’t have plastic movement retainers in them. And with a broken crystal and as dirty as it was the movement is spotless inside... Also you should always set the time to 12 on the date change so you know where the time is otherwise you’d never have a correct telling time on the watch. This video as satisfying as it is is a load of bull!

спасибо за видео есть пару моментов 1) это вряд ли ориганал, соответственно целесообразность реставрации намного ниже 2) зачем было весь корпус с механизмом погружать в воду - неужели это не повредит механизму в дальнейшем? 3) как-то очень просто вставилось стекло 4) не увидел прокладку для задней крышки и резиновые уплотнительные кольца на кнопках и заводной головке, соответственно, вопрос к водозащите за проделанную работу респект, безусловно удачи каналу и Вам лично

Yeah, absolutely not a fake video. Everyone replaces the movement in broken vacheron-constantin watches to a quartz movement and then throws them away afterwards once those break.

In the US, we have landfills. Sites specifically engineered and developed for waste disposal based on location, soil, water resources, and environmental impact; not some random lot on the outskirts of town where everyone just piles up their trash.

Oh and US including several western countries are the largest producers of plastic wastes in the world, and they export their trash to asian countries but that's changing, China has banned it and hopefully the rest will follow.

Thats one of the extremely rare hand built quartz movement versions, with fine hand moulded plastic shock absorbing. Even the batteries were hand built by artisans

I know more about marketing than I do watches. With that said, well-known and trusted brands sometimes make products marketed towards the middle class. Or, said brands will license their name. It usually bites them in the long term, however.

(Literally one of the most prestigious brands in the world of horology) The lowest any of thier watches would go for new would be around 11k if that. Save for a few of thier pieces like the Vacheron Constantin fifty-six, all of thier watches are made with in house calibers. Theres no way this is a real watch sadly 😂 plus the restoration techniques hes using wouldn't be touched by a real watchmaker. (Removing watch hands with tweezers is a big no no)

It's not VK64. What is the movement ? Looks like mecha-quartz from hand's sweeping and a battery. There is no Miyota, ETA or Seiko logo on it. Not even a Seagal ?
