Thanks for all the comments. I didn’t notice the candle out maybe opening the Tabernacle door to show it was empty would help. Growing up in the 50’s I never remembered a talk in the Church where they would remove Our Blessed Lord from the Tabernacle. That was always a distinction for us as Catholics. His constant presence for us to rely on. Christ totally present all the time so if we drove by the Church, we’d blessed ourselves and more than that we always went in to have a quick visit. I know our doors are locked for safety now…yet I still think why does He have to leave to have a talk?

I don't know anything about the technical aspects of carbon dating and so on, but I can say as a kid who loved reading about dinosaurs and dreamed about growing up to dig them up myself, I always wondered how in the world a bone could be completely turned to rock. It didn't seem possible, regardless of the explanations my teachers gave me. Sure enough, maybe 10 years ago I read about someone cracking open a tyrannosaurus bone...and finding soft tissue inside. And looking it up again, apparently this has happened a bunch of times with different dinosaur bones in varying conditions. The bottom line is, the narrative I was told about fossilization is demonstrably false: The organic matter of the body does not get entirely replaced by minerals. And that calls into question every other narrative attached to it. (Which are usually presented as the absolute, certain, definite, unquestionable truth.)

Christ spoke right in the temple. Just sayin…at that time, the temple was the most Sacred place. He isn’t on the altar, and as for what anyone else is doing, perhaps that man just didn’t want to be any more disturbing than he was, already. The dynamics of Wokeness presently programmed into Chad (what makes it a threat) can be easily grasped by watching the 1972 film, Colossus: The Forbin Project, a film making it easy, even for a child, to grasp the inherent danger of AI (no need to turn to our academic masters). The film makes clear that even a truly good person, as good as it gets in secular terms, programming an AI will be necessarily, incontrovertibly, by default, unaware in his all-apparent goodness what the result is with an absence in the programming of what has been revealed to us only by God, the absence of which makes this truly good person scientifically blind to a catastrophic fault he cannot see, but is revealed to him in the end (what he refuses even then to acknowledge--the result of his solipsistic love for himself in his goodness absent a love for God). This film is definitely worth a family watch for all ages who have become basically reasonable, through Christ, in their outlook on life.

I'm from a small parish. Our church seats more people than the room we use for religous education, dinners, etc. Prior to covid, we had chairs set up in our tiny narthex for the overflow at Mass. This church appears to be around the size of ours.

One phenomenon always amazes me in terms of how easily persons can be deceived: If a person experiences same-sex attraction, there is absolutely no reason for it to follow that person must take on an identity as BEING a "homosexual" or BEING "gay". The gestalt of what every person is, wrapped up in the mystery of being human, is "Child of God".
