My dream vehicle in amazing trim. Well done. That car is impossible to drive in Europe due to fuel costs. But it is just beautiful.

Very nice truck. This baby is SUPER CLEAN!! I have a 1992 K2500 that had the 5.7 TBI as well. It's a turd. I swapped in a 2007 LS 6.0 w/some nice little touches & it was the best thing I ever did for that truck. As soon as people hear it has the LS swap , they want to buy it. I just laugh and tell em no. But, I really like this truck of yours. It's worth every penny you're asking. Good luck if you haven't already sold it by now. o7

Wow that is one beautiful truck. I really like these R/V square bodies as they basically were available with all of the modern amentities that were available in the then-new GMT400 "OBS" trucks but with the looks and ruggedness of the square bodies. This is like buying a brand new 1990 truck! Whoever bought it is one lucky person! Great video.

This legend, which, if close to Barrett, is the most beautiful production of GM Ho from 1973 and Musk the conclusion of 1991, is congratulated on who has become this authentic filly's imagination.

I know this is an old video but, i would like to know how that tach was made
@johniannacone6058
@johniannacone6058 4 ай бұрын
I used a small 2 inch tachometer that I purchased online for the base parts. The slot that it was installed in was for a dummy light that was not used. Some older models used that spot for a clock. I bought a spare oil pressure gauge for the faceplate which I attached the tachometer electronics to. After measuring the location of the various RPM figures I used 1/8" vinyl lettering that matched the factory font (with matte clear coat) and reused the spare oil pressure gauge needle. The tach signal was picked up from the output wire on the distributor (single wire unused connector) and then a switched 12v feed and ground. Deutsch connectors were used for easy removal. The oil pressure gauge faceplate that was used for the tach had to be slightly bent down around the bottom perimeter to ensure the OEM backlight illuminated it properly. That said, it bolted right up in that slot with very minimal modification.

That's awesome! RockAuto is your friend when finding most mechanical, electrical and suspension parts. Their catalogs are very easy to follow. Certain electrical parts are NLA so rebuilding the original or sourcing NOS is really the only option outside of used parts. LMC usually carries a lot of the small trim bits that no one else has. That said their rubber seals are garbage. Precision Seals were in my opinion OEM quality and showed so signs or cracking or degradation after a couple years. Any other parts where you can't find replacements you may have to get creative. For example the tailgate motor is not available anywhere but I was able to source replacement graphite/copper brushes online and made new run channels with industrial velcro felt. Good luck on your project!

Your Sanden AC compressor conversion is fantastic ! ...good job ! ... was this a kit ? or did you do this yourself ? Jay.
@johniannacone6058
@johniannacone6058 Жыл бұрын
Sorry for the late reply. The brackets to mount it were from dirty dingo motorsports and worked perfectly. The compressor was a Sanden 4864 model. This one has the correct rear cover that mates up directly to the oem line-set with o rings. It is also a 7 piston compressor which is a must for the suburbans with rear AC. The oem lines need a short extension piece for the suction line connection to the condenser. There was a lot of other work completed to get the AC temps where they were but that covers the compressor retrofit.

@@johniannacone6058 no problem...thanks for the kind and well thought out response and i agree the 7 cyl compressor makes more sense with the rear evaporator.........peace and love Jay .

sorry to bother you, I have a 1989 GMC suburban v2500 (4x4) I want to put 33 inch tires on mine, were you able to fit them without a leveling kit or any grinding? Thanx!
@johniannacone6058
@johniannacone6058 14 күн бұрын
I lifted this one about 2 inches up front and 2.5 in the rear for a slightly forward rake. To me, 33's would be a tight fit without any sort of lift. I had another 1990 suburban about 10 years ago and that one almost rubbed with 31/10.5s at stock height.
