@16:47, that is a "vallet, trunk safety switch" so when you valet your car, you can turn off the trunk switch, then LOCK the glove box, now vallate attendant can still open the gas door if needed, but will NOT have access to your trunk. ie. personal belongings.

the gloria came out good. in case you were wandering or hadn't come across this information yet. I'm sure you've heard of a valet key, well these higher end cars tend to come with a valet key. the valet key can only open the doors and start the vehicle, they cannot open the trunk, the glove box, some cars have a locking center console or under seat storage as well that also cannot be accessed by a valet key if it is in fact lockable. this allows you to store valuables in your car without the worry that your valet might take them, so you can keep your stuff secure and still have the luxury of having your car parked for you. this is the reason for the on off trunk button in the glove box so you can restrict all access to your trunk and the glove box. some cars i've read about even have a restricted tune on the ECM when the valet key is used to keep your valet from joy riding and having too much fun. fun facts I wasn't sure if you knew.

HEY MIKE the rubber grommets you broke off the back i do believe thread in! So you could have twisted them out! They should work as adjusters like the rubbers to help your hood. Beings that there is only 3 points of contact manufactures add the adjustable rubbers to help with you un aligned trunk height! Ps thanks for the cookies at the speedway!🎉

I probably should have showed it, but these did not twist out unfortunately. There were 2 additional rubber mounts but I didn't even attempt to remove them since they were crusty, just gotta order some! 🙏
