Quite the opposite, when you’re thinking all the time “you” are not fully existing because the moment is where one exists not in the mind of past and future.

I don't understand what is meant by OCD urges? wouldn't an urge signify a desire? If we are against our thoughts then why are they referred to as urges in OCD? I am perplexed!

Read the book.. Overcoming unwanted intrusive thoughts.. They talk about how urges are just an illusion from anxiety/anxious thinking.

The urge is to undo the obsession. Those are called rituals or compulsions. They make the OCD sufferer feel tremendous relief. However that reinforces the compulsive behavior.

I kinda know those thoughts aren’t real but sometimes I scared of them being true I just get compulsive again i can’t ignore it cuz I just say what If that become true so I just keep repeat things in case so they won’t be true ,and I wanted to hear him say those thoughts are never true but he instead said they are not always true my stupid brain just said “so there is possiblity of that thoughts become true” so what I do I was kinda believing that it’s a lie and it can be solved but idk now

I so feel you! And trust me the same happens with me. The exact same thing. But it's just our mind playing stupid games with us cause we're giving so much importance to it and attaching a lot of importance to those thoughts created by it. The fact that these thoughts bother you clearly mean the thoughts aren't you. Now you might ask yourself "do these thoughts bother me enough? What if they don't?" Cause this is something that happens with me and this usually how your compulsions work. Just treat those thoughts as a brain fart, cause they come from a place which isn't under your control. No matter how real those thoughts feel, just remember you're not them. Try creating a distance between yourself and your thoughts and emotions. Try to be present in the present moment and try to live it physically. Also, from my personal experience one thing I've learnt is that the more guilty, anxious or panicky you get from the thoughts, the more that feeling will escalate and your brain will kinda convince you that maybe you want the thought or its something that you're thinking intentionally. Just don't pay any attention to them. Disregard those thoughts, no matter how cruel or bad those thoughts are. And remember, you're a good person and you're not alone in this.

2:23 Some space between “our” thoughts 💭 and “our” selves. So.... thoughts are “ours”! Philosophical question...who are you #Alice&wonderland. Why don’t people with the philosophy just say-we are not all of the thought that come especially the negative ones.
