My second comment a month later. So I followed your steps and did my 2009 CVPI. It went well 👍 thank you again 👍👍. However, I did the same to my 2003 Mustang GT. Essentially the same plastic drain plug, except just different location. The plug as you know is plastic like CVPI and cracked as I was tightening it. It may have just been too old and broke exactly like the one you showed in this video. The remaining plug still in the drain hole and not causing a leak. I have it sitting In my garage waiting for new one to arrive. QUESTION: have to use a 8mm screw to unscrew it but how do I pull out the entire plug? It looks like I need a plier to pull it put or will it just come out when I unscrew it? My plan is to unfortunately have to replace the plug, drain and repeat the step to add new coolant 🤦🏻♂️. Thanks again!

@@LimitedEditionMotorcars haha ok. I had bought some really nice aftermarket projector styles lights for my Marauder but they didn't fit around the Mercury grill. They were designed for a Crown Vic but I thought I could make it work. Unfortunately the gaps were too big. I ended up getting all new Marauder lights. Probably better to keep it original anyway.
@LimitedEditionMotorcars4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, the Marauder uses Grand Marquis lights with blacked out chrome rings inside. Both the CV and the Marauder have the same header panel but to swap lights between cars you would need to change the grill but you already knew that.

but seriously now, any thoughts on tap water vs distilled water in the radiator? aren't you afraid of deposits in the rad/engine etc?
@LimitedEditionMotorcars3 жыл бұрын
If you run straight tap water then you will have an issue, but you are mixing it with coolant so it doesn't really matter. I have been doing this for years and never had a problem.

Looks like the front end had been replaced at some point. The gray color is a little off for the header and bumper. A fender bender could explain the missing front plate mount and non-op horn. BTW, new headlights and side markers really give the car some pop.
@LimitedEditionMotorcars3 жыл бұрын
Front end was not replaced, the header panel was just resprayed at some point. We don't have front plates in Florida and the horn had to do with police equipment being removed.

I love this video! Thank you!!!! I took mine to a local shop and they filled it with orange fluid and didn’t even do all the flushing you mentioned! Question. When you left the hose with water running and engine on, how long did you have to run it? I’m afraid to do this step lol. Also, can the flush be done with engine cold ?
@LimitedEditionMotorcars3 жыл бұрын
You need to run the engine until clean water comes up from the upper hose. You need the engine hot for the thermostat to open otherwise nothing will come out of the upper radiator hose.
@krownvikkhris3004 Жыл бұрын

@LimitedEditionMotorcars3 жыл бұрын
You really need to pay attention to the instructions. You have to wait for the thermostat to open up for the water to come out of the upper radiator hose. If it never happens then you have a stuck thermostat.
