My grandmothers was from around 1905. I still remember the feel and the sound and the smell of the little drawers on the right hand side when I would open them. The top one would always get stuck a little bit. She would have a small little bar of soap that she would keep for when she needed to lubricate it lol.I have A few things that she quilted on her sewing machine. I learn to sew on this machine with the exact same cabinet as yours. I was about four or five years old. My favorite quote that I own is ocean waves. Her and my great grandmother actually started that quilt and she finished it. I also have drunkards path. Both in excellent shape. Matter fact I took them To the antiques roadshow in Grand Rapids Michigan and had them appraised :-)

I just ran across this video. Wow - you are so lucky to receive such a wonderful gift. As a person who seems to have vintage machines coming into my life looking for a good home (1959 Singer 401 named Hank, a 1950 Pfaff treadle named Marlene (electricity was a bit in short supply after the war here in Germany,) a 1910 treadle named Antonia and a no name from maybe the late 1950's early 1960's named Alice). Thank you for sharing your experiences and hope your machine - what ever you end up naming it - brings you much sewing joy. Peace to you. Ron in Germany.

I have two of these beauties, one is 1908 and one is a 1920s model, same decals. No treadle, though. I did buy a separate table but it isn't complete, unfortunately. The treadle wheel and side drawers are missing. I hope to eventually replace the missing pieces of acquire a complete table at some point to house the second machine. They're an absolute not to see on and a not to look at every day! Alsi, I must say that I LOVE your Haunted Mansion wallpaper!!! Eeeep!! So awesome!

What a Great Video! I thoroughly enjoyed it! I also own a 1906 Singer 'Lotus' Model 66-1 machine. I acquired the machine from an eBay auction back December of 2002, and it was shipped to my home in California. There was no cabinet or portable case with it, and with no hand crank / motor boss on its pillar, it had obviously been originally been designated and sold as a treadle machine. Its serial number is: H 9066, dating it to having been manufactured at Elizabethport, NJ in1906, and the guy that I bought it from shipped it from Tenafly, NJ. It took me several years to find a suitable treadle cabinet for it, and that cabinet needed some repair and refinishing. The project turned out great, and I still own the machine today.

Its nice to see your excitement, i love hunting for machines and restoring them , singers mainly but i do own a few others, the older a machine is the more exited i get , and that is one cool cabinet, i havent seen one that all the accessories fit in like that , 👍👍 , the 66 is one machine i have not owned yet , but i do have a few shuttle machines ranging from 1895 to 1917 , amazing they still work perfect after over 100 years old . I buy them really dirty and some times even siezed , for 25 bucks i like the challange, if your into vintage machines i post videos of my finds , some before and after videos too as well as my collection . Enjoyed your video 😁

Oh god. I'm sitting here with the Bradbury's Family V.S. which is a Singer remake and it's about the same age as yours here. Mine is a hand crank (it can be converted to a treadle and my brain hurts from trying to figure all this stuff out. I am happy that at least you had yours for a year (a cool down phase) and so it makes me feel less frantic. :) TY

Sewing machine oil is best. Everything else will damage the decals. They are often very old and delicate.
