Clean the raised area of the tire to be painted with rubbing alcohol, then send it with 400 grit sandpaper. Clean again with rubbing alcohol. Use a fabric painting marker, (Walmart). It will not flake off. I did mine over 5 or so years ago and they still look great, yes we ride our Ray's... Beautiful bike by the way, I also have a 72 lemon peeler disc brake bike. 👍🇺🇸💪🚲🏁🏁🏁

Nice job, I bought as a kid an Orange Krate which I still have, it’s in better than average condition and would like to get it restored, know of any place? I live in Ohio. I still have original sales receipt. Eddie K.

Beautiful. I had a '72 Apple Krate. Always preferred the rear disc brake to the side pulls I see on some vintage Krates.

I used Aero Kroil and ultra fine grade steel wool.
