I know right, you can see the PO did regular oil changes with good quality oil. I am so happy with this engine!

Excellent work and video.. As I have done this process a few times now I was holding my breath as you were removing the variocam oil feed tube, washers and check valve.. I dont know if you did this or not, but to prevent any items disappearing down the oil drain hole sitting just below the variocam I usually block it off with a rag or similar. Its so easy to lose small parts down there, especially the check valve as it will pop out with any movement of the variocam and most likely be gone into the sump. If you haven't planned for it already, I would definitely recommend sending the injectors out for an ultrasonic clean and test of spray pattern, especially now you are only one step away from removing them completely. Its an inexpensive job but makes a positive difference in drivability, smoothness, power and fuel economy. And I know it might be a bit late now that you have the cams installed again, but if you have no record of the head gasket being replaced, most likely it will be deterioating even though its not currently leaking. It allows coolant to short circuit causing uneven cooling of especially the rear cylinders and can eventually fail completely. Looking forward to the next episode and timing of the cams.. 👍

Thank you Alex! I did not plug that hole, but luckily nothing went down it 😅 Good point about the fuel injectors too, I was considering it, but you have convinced me. This car has very low mileage so I think the head gasket should be fine, or rather I will take a gamble that it's good.

With the Rennlist DIY it was pretty straight forward Jeff, they only tough part was not knowing if I was going to strip the bolts. I really dislike allen bolts, give me tripple square every day.

Thank you! CS cab would have been cool, but I will never fit into those buckets 🙈 I am already looking into upgrading the suspension though, so it will at least handle like a CS cab 😎
