Interesting looking lamps. They looked 1000% better after you refinished them. Great job as always, Larry!
@LostMountainRestoration5 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Sharon. They came out of a house where we bought a bunch of furniture from the very early 1950's. I believe these were probably bought with the furniture. The shades, we believe, are original and in pretty good shape for their age. Someone will love these. Thanks again and best regards.

Nice job! Those shades look in pretty good shape. I find lots of old lamps but rarely find usable shades.
@LostMountainRestoration5 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Yes, it was a bit of a surprise to find them with the shades. We always buy MCM shades when we find them absent the lamps. Best regards!

Gorgeous lamps and thanks for the walk through. When we bought our house they left some wood and etched glass (huge) end table lamps and we just love them. They were in near perfect condition 10 years ago and we've been caring for them so I don't have to ever take them apart and refinish them....lol......I'm sure it would not go as well as what you've done here. Great vid as always, thanks!

A very interesting and different restore. Great work.

Thank you. It was something a little different and I thought many people would like to see a lamp disassembled and then put back together. Best regards.

Have you had to try the non methylene chloride strippers yet? The old ones are being pulled off the market. I hear the new ones are slower.
@LostMountainRestoration5 жыл бұрын
I have not. I'm hoping I can continue to get the MC stripper through my commercial supplier. We'll see what happens.

Thanks Larry! I love to refinish lamps. Did you replace the felt on the bottom of the base? I also thought I saw felt in between the base and the tube..... If there was did you replace that also? Thank you for sharing with us your tips on how to fix and refinish wonderful pieces of furniture.
@LostMountainRestoration5 жыл бұрын
I haven't put new felt on them yet. I took the old, worn, felt off during the stripping process. Great eye!

Why don’t you tape off the brass, and finish them the original color? I’m a lamp collector and wouldn’t touch those as they now look.
