Nice job as usual. I'm a big fan of the shorter videos. I know the algorithm wants longer videos, but I find the 15-20 minute videos more enjoyable. Thanks for a great tutorial on refinishing the valve cover. I have one on an accord I need to do.

Great How To. That paint stripper is very good indeed. Nice tight wrinkle finish too. Turned out really well. If you don't have a heat gun, one trick I found was beg, borrow, steal one of those household electric oil heaters. Turn that up to eleven, let it heat up, spray the cover and then put it on top of the heater. Leave to cook. 🙂 I knew one guy who put his in the oven. His wife didn't kill him when she found out, which was the bigger surprise. 😄

Do not ever hesitate sending us a simple video we love to watch anything valve covers if I'm not doing them I've always loved watching them being done I used to love doing b-series VTec covers I would lay down quarters or put tape over quarters and cut them out it's the perfect size for all the circle machined areas

Thanks, I'll have to try that technique!

My recommendation is to sand/polish the places you want bare first. One, it’s way easier to do a good job when you’re not worried about disturbing the painted areas around. Two, once painted, if those areas are smooth, the paint will come off a million times easier.

I don't remember where I first saw it, but when you go to sand the letters, go ahead and put another layer of tape directly on the lettering... just sand through the tape and it will keep most of the sanding dust from falling in your fresh crinkle finish.... it seems no amount of compressed air/ water can get all that dust back out of the finish. Your valve cover turned out great! Keep up the good work!
@crxseth19 күн бұрын
I’ve never tried that technique, but it sounds like a good idea! Thanks for the tip. I’d be afraid of the adhesive getting crammed between the letters.

When I did mine, I put a very thin layer of chapstick on the letters. After the paint was cured, I just wiped the letters off with a towel. It worked a lot better than I expected it to.

The new 'ULTRA' formula of 'Klean-Strip Aircraft Paint Remover ULTRA' is amazing stuff. It is really superior to the previous formulas.

do you have a rec for a good washer fluid sprayer from Honda? I bought the original part for my 95 Civic and it doesn't spray wide like modern sprayers do. I heard there is a Honda part alternative that fits but I cannot find the part number. Hope you have some thoughts on this. thank you for all the great videos.
@MrGrentch19 күн бұрын
Fwiw I've a 98 JDM Integra so figure similar to your Civic and I fitted Honda Jazz/Fit spray nozzles. Direct replacement and work _far_ better than the originals. The Honda part number(in Ireland/EU anyway) is 76810-SEA-A01. Iirc they were 20 quid for the pair.
@crxseth19 күн бұрын
I know what you’re talking about, but I’ve never looked into alternatives.
@MrGrentch19 күн бұрын
@@crxseth The Jazz/Fit nozzles have a slot type arrangement rather than the original pinhole type and allow for a wider and seemingly stronger jet. One of the best practical upgrades I've done tbh. It was a popular tweak for older Tegs, Civics etc on UK/Ire Honda forums back in the day, and they fit just like the originals.

Thanks, but there really isn’t much to share other than I’ve always sort of worked on my own cars for simple stuff. I just recently started trying to do more like paint and engine swaps. Just research, learn, and try.
