Restoring a Vintage Bonney Tools Hammer. Tool restoration using the Atlas lathe. Fun Hobby project. Antique American Made tools are a joy to restore repair and use. You just cant beat made in USA from a certain époque and Bonney tools were one of the best. Her we have an aluminum hammer with cast in finger grips and a copper head. We'll take it all done, clean it up, recut the copper head and make a new plastic head for the opposing side. The Atlas lathe comes into its own on these sort of hobby projects and this will be no exception. Enjoy the video, cause this is one the funner things I've done lately.

Huh. I have (had) a hammer just like that from back in the 80's during my apprenticeship. We could get different materials for the striker ends. I'd forgotten all about it. I guess I should look for it!
