That pump for the windshield washer was actually common for the era, even on regular cars. IIRC, my '73 Plymouth Duster had a similar setup (but with a bottle under the hood).

I had one of the Sebring/Vanguard city cars (double badged ) It was made during the transition period. Since they only made something like 3 to 5 a week I doubt they were very many of them. an old guy I worked with who was retiring found out. I had it and hounded me incessantly until I finally sold it to him. I delivered it one day into his backyard next to the shed. He was planning on cleaning out to store it in before having it updated with drives by the local electric motor supply company. Instead, it sat for years in the backyard until after he died. I would drive by occasionallyto see if it was still there and one day it wasn’t

Be wary of the brakes! Perhaps later models as yours were upgraded (we can hope). Back in the day I read that these sometimes has the front suspension ripped out of the frame on hard braking.Be sure to check this out and beef up those components as necessary. Good luck! This willbe fun to watch.

Do you know tgat you can chemically weld abs with acetone? You can make abs filler putty by mixing abs with acetone in a jar. It disolves and bonds the abs together like new.
@DoItYourselfDad5 ай бұрын
Yup! I’ve been doing a little bit of everything depending on the damage. I’ve been cutting up abs 3D print filament and mixing it with acetone.

this is basically an enclosed golf cart. People in The Villages of central Florida probably have much better vehicles they use as "daily drivers". but this looks interesting. Good luck to ya !

Most of the running gear on this is golf cart components, this was/is essentially a hopped up golf cart, with skinnier tires, a body, and a license plate.

That dirty roof is prime for solar panels for free motoring. Add a big navtainment screen, bigger motor. Electric Aircon. More batteries. It will be worth making things less golf cart. With those upgrades might want a roll cage.
@DoItYourselfDad6 күн бұрын
With those upgrades I need all new suspension and brakes as well. The suspension on this thing is straight axle from and back, leaf springs and no linkage (the axels are located using the leafs only).

The defroster *switch* was required to be installed, even in the absence of a defroster element, which is not required. Had to do with laws simplifying overly complicated HVAC controls. The washer fluid isn't a legal requirement in the states afaik, but hand pumps and foot bulbs are fairly common, especially on British sports cars. VW and others famously used overpressure from the spare tyre. The brake calipers infamously sheared off during regulatory testing, so maybe you don't want the brakes to work tooo well.

And also lithium-ion is not the same as lipo. That would be lithium-polimer. Regular lithium-ion does indeed burn tho.
