Restoring an Abandoned Mazda RX7 EP. 11

Getting ever so closer to getting this 1993 Mazda FD RX7 complete. We still have a TON of things to paint. So figured we would knock out everything we possibly can right now. At this point, all that is left is the Hood, Doors, Hatch, and some small bits here and there. It's insane to finally see this thing look like a car again and it's looking so good!

Having sanded expoxy primer in the past, i feel your pain. The stuff stays tacky for weeks, and gums up sand paper almost instantly.

You may want to paint the hatch just in case. Carbon parts have a nasty habit of not fitting quite right.

Devin niemela has something similar to that booth and after using it a bunch it gets a bunch of stuff in his paint. Probably best to clean the filters often and then try and hit the inside to clean up stray paint!

Looks good bumper match was great, even GTR35 and GR Supra white bumpers are off usually. Love FD RX7s body lines and interesting to see you re do it all. Take yr time with doors etc as more content for us to enjoy. That paint booth, what a brilliant idea.

Your painting technique has greatly improved with the long sweeping passes and early cut in of the hard to reach areas. Too many people overlap when spraying and wonder why they get heavy spots and runs. Gun also seems better adjusted. Edit: Did you not use spray adhesive on the bumpers before primer? If you don't any flex of the bumper, if it gets bumped into, you will chip the paint and peel off.

@Smeedia For future reference, you want to use spray adjesive before primer on any rubberized flexible bumpers. On fiberglass isn't necessary.

A white car just seems to let the car show it's real persona. Nothing glitzing it up or making it pop on the surface. It's like a bikini. It shows you all the curves naturally. It really allows for contrast and coordination.

Just finished removing the factory feed hardline out of my gd, man that sucked ass. Complete dash removal and brake booster removal. Not fun. Gonna cut the evap barb off and convert to an from the hard line back to the factory fuel pump hanger
