If you water down your paint, it will take more layers but you won’t have as many paint strokes!! I used to customize and this tip helped me a ton :) My paint is pretty smooth, as smooth as my impatient self could get it! I would recommend experimenting with different paint to water ratios. It’s worth it!

Just so you know it's actually very important to wash the acetone off with soap and water, because otherwise it'll start eating away the plastic and destroy the whole toy.

This was so cool! I restored an lps bunny a few days ago- repainted the eyes and added a few spots and it was really fun! For the base layer of the black in the eyes I’ve started using a black posca pen (an acrylic paint marker) in the smallest size it comes in, and it’s been working great for me I would recommend if you have shaky hands like I do

I do this with My Little Pony when I get doubles or when my friends have toys in need of a fix. I absolutely love fixing paint on toys and restoring toys. I also really like customizing My Little Pony and other toys like LPS as well. I try to customize doubles that are still being made or really damaged ones that wouldn't be worth anything as a collector. I don't customize often and have so many fake My Little Pony I could customize. I have one fake My Little Pony prepped for getting hair as I want to make a Disney's The Little Mermaid inspired pony not in mermaid form. I just need to buy the hair and put it in after I customize it to how I want it. I also am hoping that I can get a few of the blank white LPS I saw on eBay that are made to customize and are not real authentic LPS.

i display my LPS on a shelf above my desk. little did i know, the smoke from my candles got behind the shelf and stained all the ones against the wall. I think he was someones attempt to undo one of their customs, my first shorthair is a mostly successful result of that, it could explain his staining as certain colours stain lps plastics if left on for long enough. The eyes were as you theorised most likely removed with acetone and so the buyer sent this mess to you to fix for them.

What are your oven settings for baking lps and clay? I would like to try myself but I don't really know what the limits are for the plastic.

airdry clay. i'm pretty sure they use epoxy sculpt which dries naturally. don't bake your lps please

I use apoxie sculpt brand epoxy clay. It comes in two parts that you mix together and air dries overnight. I've never put an lps in an oven but I would not recommend it. To soften lps for easy head removal and for putting them back, I put them in a cup with 6 oz of water heated by my keurig coffee machine (89° C / 192° F) instead of using boiling water (100° C / 212° F). This works better than any method I've found online. They soften really quickly and keurigs heat faster than my electric kettle. Keurig is a rather expensive brand but any other single serve-brewer would work. To cool lps down I just set them in the freezer for 2-3 minutes.

Thanks for the tips but the air dry clay I've tried can be very heavy and not so smooth.. Also epoxy clay is not available in my country or I have to spend a lot of money. I have oven clay however with a small special oven I only use for crafts. I would like to try using the oven clay I have. I'm also not a biginner I've been doing repaints for a view years now and I want to try something new.

As a child i use to put pasteline (clay for kids Idk konw its called in English) on my lps. And because of that my white shorthair changed color completely. I tried to fix it many times but I culfny clean it with just soap and toothbrush. I wish she could be saved like this one. It's a white-pink glitter flower shorthair.
