Super. Six of my Mantua/Tyco MU-2 drive locomotives survived my childhood and are in use on my railroad, but only my Bicentennial F-7 has the drive unit held together with screws, like yours. This might be an Aussie version of the Mantua/Tyco MU-2 drive. (MU-3?) The rest of my surviving locomotives drive units are the familiar riveted together motorized truck/chassis MU-2 unit. (The MU-1 drive had screws also.) An EMD GP-20 and F-7, two Plymouth CR-4 switchers, a Brill Trolley, and a Plymouth MDT switcher still call my layout home. They represent about 10% of my locomotive fleet, and all of them operate quite well, MU to my modern locomotives nicely, are close to 50 years old now, and have a nice patina on the paint job from being operated outside so often. The GP-20 got a Lionel HO dynamic brake blister, (Only NYC had non-dynamic brake GP-20s.) but all of the locomotives got lots of weight, window glass, new horns, full lighting package, many new details, and Kadee couplers. However, the Trolley and the Plymouth MDT got RADIAL X2-f HORNHOOK couplers installed that I bought new at the hobby shop, (They had eleven pairs in stock and I bought them all. I never encountered them again at any other hobby shop.) as well as three short passenger cars, a combine, a coach, and an observation, plus one each of a box car, hopper car, flat car, tank car, gondola car, and a cupola caboose which has a radial X2-f on one end, and a radial Kadee knuckle on the other, and serves as my coupler transition car. Sometimes the Brill Trolley or the Plymouth MDT will pull a three car passenger special on the trolley line. I would bet that few if any of you have seen radial X2-f couplers, and they will remain intact on the Trolley Lines Brill Trolley Car, MDT switcher, cupola caboose, five freight and three passenger cars and will not be replaced by Kadee radial knuckle couplers. Good job on the locomotive. Hello from the Tracy Mountain Railway in Colorado. 💙 T.E.N.

I love the look of your town with road. It looks like a great tourist spot! Hi George, the Turkey! Now you need to advertise to get traffic into your town. Maybe run an excursion from Alleytown to your town and tell people that George the Turkey will give a one of a kind concern...hehehe.

I’m new to HO trains and I bought a box of engines and cars that have been dormant since the 80s. Would love to know what you did step by step and how, so I can try to restore what I got.

Hi, Dirty Dan! Great videos! We have a Tyco Golden West HO train, with an 1890 "ten wheeler" Santa Fe Lighted engine, #233.0. We need new traction tires. I can't find a model number, and am not sure if any of the tires on ebay will fit. Any suggestions? - Thank you, Rick R

I would recommend dental bands, but if possible there may be some new old stock traction bands on eBay. If needed I can provide a link to either

Hey Dan have you ever messed with the old TYCO/Mantua's that are riveted together? IE, you cant get to the motor or gears without drilling out the rivets. I havent taken one down that far ....yet. BTW, I love the older locomotives myself! I'm working on a 34ftx8ft layout now. Oh, one more thought, might want to try mineral spirits in leu of IPA. IPA has water which will corrode over time. Mineral Spirits doesnt contain water.

It might be a bit late but usually you can find a model and brand for parts. Hope it helps
