I remember in the 80's. We would use roofing paper on the floors. I like this much better. Love the content you have. Keep up the good work.

Wow that was a great turnaround. Not exactly an old booth though, I can only dream about having such a high tech booth for my shop. Great work as always & that’s what makes you the No. 1 paint guy on KZbin (for me anyway) keep up the great work!

I was thinking the same thing, I wish I had a paint booth period. For now all I can do is work hard to get one.

I'm lucky, my work has a company that comes in and does this. They clean the booth, put down that green mat, coat the glass and line the walls with 3M dirt trap. They also do the mix room. The companies name is Elite, out of the Chicago area. One tip for you: after awhile, I found out your vacuum will get clogged from the green stuff on the floor. Try to blow out the vacuum every week. It is nice stuff. Jobs do come out cleaner.

I've noticed Dirt trap looks and works great for three to four weeks then it gets inundated with contamination pretty quickly. The Like90 mat is much more durable and comfortable to walk on. Also pleasant to kneel down on and or spray a rocker.

Might I suggest a drywall pole sander (flex head attachment) for the main knockdown on booth walls? Just be careful around glass etc and you're going to save some time and work. Just a thought that came to me. I'm a sub and enjoy your videos. Most of em anyway!

love this channel, also the tape lines will help you find imperfections in the booth too! great tips keep it up!

Thanks Brian, great vid. I'd like to see more about how to use the booth, baking, managing the mix room and perhaps some of the finer points like what's in your booth box of tricks. While some of this may seem mundane it's setting up us DIY types really well if we ever rent a booth.

I wonder if that green will reflect in the finish. We use dirt traps in white walls and floor.

cool video brian! Would you recommend the carpet on the ground, does it really help reducing dust?And where can i buy it? What technical data does the fans of the booth have? do you have two, one for exhaust and one for fresh air? and what airflow and power intake do they have? And are radial or axial fans installed?

*QUESTION* I am finishing up a garage/ painting area myself. A while back in a video, you mentioned that you like to use the larger opening air line fittings. I'm not sure if you ever mentioned the air hoses/air hose size you prefer. Could you please let me/us know what airline hose size you prefer and brands if possible? Thanks in advance! (Or maybe do a short video on the different painting out comes of the different diameter hoses. If any)

That floor mat is quite interesting. I wonder how durable it is... But, I guess we'll see in a couple of months. Nice video, Brian!

I work as a painters apprentice at the sheehy collision center in Hagerstown Maryland and we use similar floor mats. They hold up quite well. We have 2 single booths and 2 doubles booths and we paint upwards of 6 cars a day and the carpets do a good job. With the kind of volume we push through they do a surprisingly good job and last a while. They last a good couple months. They could probably last longer if we vacuumed them more often.
@dougbadham3642 Жыл бұрын
@@jakeb3149 Yes if you vacuum daily they often last 4 to 6 months depending on the volume going through the booth.

Won't the green matt cause a reflection on the paint and distort how you see the colors on the car?
