This is one of the best Christmas presents ever in my adult life. I still haven''t watched part 3 yet, because I know I will weep. Tears of joy, grief, the whole ball of emotional wax I've accumulated as a fan of theirs since the Ed Sullivan show, when I was not yet 4 years old. PJ, et al, your restoration is a masterpiece. You were the right man, with the right vision, and the right technology, to do this right, and you did. Merry Christmas!

One of my many favorite things that I took away from watching this is that it humanized The Beatles. I was born 6 years after they broke up and they have always been this band on a pedestal. But this just made them seem like regular people. Extremely talented regular people. And Ringo farts, too.

Well they were trying to come up with 14 songs for the album, which was the typical amount on the British releases. The Let It Be album technically only had about 10 real songs, even though Across the Universe and I Me Mine were not performed accurately in the film. That's why those Abbey Road tracks were being worked out as possibilities for the album.

They Shall Not Grow Old was a great foundation to accomplishing this. There was a lot more that had to be done there. Here changing 50 year old degraded 16mm film to something useable as HD digital had to be tough but to me the real achievement is in the audio. And the interpretation. Very well done.

There are many moments in the film where the songs are cut off, simply to move on with the action. It would be great to have a version of this without those songs being broken off. It would add an extra hour or so but it's worth it, I think. Perhaps an extended Blu-ray version or something.

Oh come on! You can literally see all the fine detail just scrubbed away! Who in their right mind sat down and thought "we'll take grainy 16mm negatives and take out all the detail and bring out the colour palette". You need to go to specsavers because you've ruined this and in one shot in the documentary the strings are missing from John Lennon's Guitar, you took so much detail out it's not even funny.
