Yooo my bad! DS screens can't be fixed once they've yellowed, it's a defect in the LCD's themselves. They all gotta be replaced

It has the most value and it's very easy to work on :) DSi is easy to work on until you have hinge or top screen/camera issues, and for a GBA SP, they're actually pretty expensive even if broken. So I've never been inclined enough to get into them

Do you only use factory Nintendo screens? I keep running out of nice OEM screens but I’ve been afraid to try the YuXi screens from ali in case they are trash.

I do only use factory screens. But, I have used some 3rd party screens in the past (around 9) and, 2 out of the 9 were bad. One just wouldn't work, and another one's screen was literally lopsided on the inside of the LCD casing. It was really weird. Even though it was seated completely straight in the shell, the LCD itself was still way lopsided. That was the last time I ever bought a 3rd party screen That was around 2 years ago. I don't think it hurts to try the YuXi screens though, just to see how they are

Is there a way to get rid of slight yellowing without replacing screens ? I’m not confident I think I’d fuck it up if I take my console spart

Yes, leave the console on maximum brightness on 100% blank, white screens, for days / weeks at a single time. Over time yellowing will become less and less. It does take a long time though! If you leave the console plugged in and turned on on yellow screens over nugbr every single night then that'll work too. To get blank white screens, remove a DS cartridge as it's loading up. You can then even close the console and it won't go into sleep mode since it is technically frozen :)

I just bought two brand new screens on AliExpress for my restoration project because you can never trust these screens. I had a situation that the top screen flat cable was so dry after so many years, that it snapped when reshelling, then I bought another parts Ds to get the screen, and again, it snapped lol. can't trust these screens

For a DSi, yes :) the only thing that would get rid of the data is if you swap the motherboard

@josecira2494 this is a DS Lite, there isn't really data on this particular system, however for a DSi and a DSi XL, data will always remain, unless the motherboard breaks :)
