Thanks! I actually finished it tonight. New video in 24 hours. Just waiting on a new petcock as mine mysteriously (mostly) froze while it was off the bike. Should be running right after thanksgiving 😎

Another great episode! Your content is clear, easy to follow and jampacked with knowledge for riders that want to work on their own bikes. Please really realy do follow this up with an old harley series. I think if you chose a niche it should be vintage bike restorations, rather than dabbling in modern bikes at the same time. The best part of these videos are how effortlessly educational they are, along with your entertaining charisma. This could be a good niche because people are intimidated by the cast iron bullets, they are intimidated by iron, shovel or older harleys, they love these bikes but think they are problematic, and you are making it look fun and easy to own and maintain these beautiful bikes. Next week couldnt come soon enough!!!!

The reasons why i kept going on about choosing a focus on your content is because I think that will help you grow more. I am willing to bet money most people here are not worried that you are not reviewing the continental gt or that kawasaki. They just want to see this!

@@slash502 Thanks for the comments and compliments. Very much appreciated. Vintage bikes will be a huge part of this, but some modern bikes will sneak in as well. I always enjoy working on bikes and this Bullet is a fun one. I hope the series helps others with their bikes. As far as a Harley, I’m thinking an old Ironhead Sportster.

Looks like you're having a ton of fun tearing the bike down. Really looking forward to you rebuilding the 'heart' of the bike. I'm a Classic 500 owner from Scotland and I can tell you one thing, you don't need two hundred horsepower to have fun. Looking forward to seeing the bike all finished and back on the road. You're making fantastic videos of a fantastic machine.

Nice job! Overcoming such weird "factory bodges" like that throughbolt is all just par for the course with a Bullet, but you dealt with it masterfully. I must have missed the notification for Part 4, so off I go. I'm really enjoying this series.

Fantastic series, sometimes i'm sweating bullets thinking of any upcoming breakdown. It's still going strong now, but well.. it is what it is. These episodes, combined with the 'enfield manual' are a great and lively tutorial. Thx! and keep the episodes coming! can't wait to hear the thump once again.

Great viewing 👌 you know this bike inside and out. Doing your own wrenching on your own bike is very rewarding, and you understand your bike a lot more. Plus, you know it's done correctly.

It's looking good. Did you say you're intending to refurbish the transmission gear cluster too?
@Cyclingwithgasoline

I’m hoping to leave the transmission alone. I think it’s ok for now and I can work on it while it’s on the bike if necessary

Great stuff! Excellent detail. Gives anyone confidence to do similar work. I have a 2012 classic chrome with carb conversion. Just a great little bike. Question. I took off tank side stickers. At the factory they scratched surface to get better adhesion for the stickers. Any tips on getting those scratches out? I have been looking at just covering them with maroon 3d "royal Enfield " tank sticker.

@cyclingwithgasoline How did you even manage to fit a wrench to loosen the bolt you cut off. The space was really tight and I had to run to the parts store to find a flex head. And I don't think that's a one off type fitting. My bike has the exact same setup and I would have to cut it off too. I tried looking for the bolt on Hitchcock's but looks like all they have is something similar to the existing setup with a hex head on one side.
@Cyclingwithgasoline
@Cyclingwithgasoline Жыл бұрын
It was definitely a tight fit, but I got a socket extension on one side and a wrench on the other. Hitchcock’s has the correct one under the OEM parts list. It’s a shame that these bolts made it onto some bikes

welcome to the restoration nightmare of old 500cc enfield gentlemen 🙄 mine is alternative gear pattern with 4 speed gearbox with neutral lever on it and it's a rare motorcycle 😳 and I know this is a very very PURE NIGHTMARE 🤦🏻‍♂️ you have to hunt for spare parts a lot and i changed the normal crank to modified heavy crank for the smoothness and lord oh lord i hunted for the bore and piston all over my state and bought it after many days 🙄 like I told restoration of this old 500ccs enfields are PURE NIGHTMARE 😳

So far so good with mine, although I've been sent the wrong parts on two occasions now, which is frustrating. First I got the wrong crankcase bearing and then the wrong crankshaft. I can't work with the wrong parts, but what can you do... It'll be great when finished.
