E39 Paint is very hard, dont be afraid to go at it. Loved the result with mine.

man the before and after here seems to be very impressive, i've the same issue with a 'glacier green' e39. When I did the bonnet it has a deeper colour to the original paint on the wings and elsewhere on the car. Also I repaired rust around the fuel door at the rear, and again the paint I sprayed on is 'greener' than the surrounding original paint. I'm hoping using your technique I can level out the colours, and bring back the colour the car once had, and hopefully that will help to match the new paint too. Going on your demonstration I think there' s a fair chance it will work
