OK my friend, perhaps a traditional Mason can make some comments in reciprocity for all you've taught me. The cause of the blown lime putty inside is definitely that moisture is blocked from going outside. I hate agreeing with architecture, yet I agree. If they are adamant they only want the inside done, then I'd say hot lime, lime washed plus added, moisture controlled, ventilation. Without stripping the outside and replacing as originally done, I suspect fuckery in the years to come. None breathable paint inside has accelerated the problem.. Interesting job though, enjoy!
