I don't know anything about the prices of art (for purchase) nor for restoration, but just watching you and Kit scrape adhesive for hours leads me to believe that the cost to restore this piece will far surpass the purchase price of a painting with a ripped face. @XYGSteve8 ай бұрын

@@XYGSteve a bit, but then if the museum pays too low, the conservator will likely look to setup on their own, in partnership with another conservator or look to move to higher pay... but on the flip side, many museums hold historically and culturally significant works which you probably dont want to put in the hands of the conservator you found who will accept bottom level pay for... meanwhile a private conservator may have a hard time finding clients with realistic budgets to restore what may often be, at least moneteraly lower value works..

It also shows how right KZbinrs were when they complained about each wave of adpocalypse. When the platform shows the ads, clearly without approval by the content creator, it is one thing. It's clear they bought the ad spot. When a content creator takes on a sponsor, they now approve of whatever they advertise, even if they have no idea what it is and only want the pay. People don't only see that as different, it is. And there clearly is demand for ad spots, as the sponsored segments clearly show. Combine that with general criticism of the idea of online therapy, and criticism from clients about unprofessional therapists etc. that weren't part of the FTC investigation, and it's not surprising that the accusations continue. We never just make stuff up when data is missing, even when we're 99% certain of what should be there because we can never be completely certain. In our case, our clients really need accurate maps (I mainly make maps for mega wind and solar farm installs) to get planning permissions, to know what access they have, to know what is there already, to know what they'll need to purchase, etc. We just don't nessessarily know the original feature as we don't know the orignal intent of the artist (in this case, the artist is a farmer putting up fences deep within rural America, but you get what I mean)

I like that people seem to love Kit. I mean, seeing her from time to time was fine for me, but seeing her more is good too

Please don't accept sponsorships from BetterHelp, because they've been sued for illegal business practices and don't seem to care about the ethics of their customers :(

Wow! What a challenge. I felt the same way when Kit said glad you volunteered ,..lol I am looking forward to part two to this face off.

Yay! Kit’s back. It’s great to watch someone else learn so you can learn along with them. That face is terrifying - it must be very close to the line between restoration and creation

Loved Kit's snark in the beginning. But wow this is a herculean task. I'm excited to see how it goes.

wow i can't wait to see how you would even begin to repair this one! i've painted portraits so know how high the pressure is even with no other complicating matters. can't even imagine the pressure of finding a fitting face for a painting like this.

It will be very interesting to see how they resolve this problem.

@@twotruckslyrics I use the SponsorBlock browser extension to skip it. Not affiliated, just suggesting it because it works.

Yep, skip this one and quite a few other ones. I'm so disappointed to see them as sponsor here.

@@twotruckslyrics The ad or the video? No reason to skip his work. It's not his fault if they're being shady behind the scenes and he doesn't know about it.

Hello Kit its nice to see you again. This must have been a daunting task to take on. I didnt realise how damaged it actually was. Im looking forward to seeing the reconstruction of this.

Thanks for the video. Can't wait for part 2.

the way I as an artist understand conservation work: the point is not to make an old painting look new, but to make an old painting look like and old painting very well preserved
@baumknuddler69608 ай бұрын
I'm sure they pay well or whatever, but you CAN'T do betterhelp sponsorships omg. You've gotta do some research this is just unethical

Part of me wonders if a lot of creators signed up for a really long contract (like 1 year) and so even though people are shouting about how awful they are, they are kind of hooped. At least I haven't seen anyone stop promoting them recently despite an uptick in viewers flagging their issues

I tried it, googled the person they matched me with, found out she’d been suspended for inappropriate behavior with a patient (at a center for mentally disabled children) and fined by several other states she’d sought licensure from without mentioning the incident. Fastest cancelation and refund I ever sought. BETTERHELP IS BEYOND SKETCHY.
