Agreed. Even if it’s just describing the process (though hopefully not the same recording used verbatim) instead of just the music overdub ones.

Loved this, really interesting hearing about the history too! Honestly I wish it was even longer, I'd love to see and hear even more detail on the process of the vacuum table and how you specifically managed the bleaching and stabilisation of the tear. The processes are fascinating! Can't wait for the next one!

Wow! Fantastic to see this Star Wars poster restoration and get info about its origin. I have one that I bought at a New York comic shop when I was in high school in the late 70’s. So glad I kept it and luckily it’s in very good condition.

Been binge watching your videos, very relaxing and amazing really, its like you ride the edge of cleaning and ripping. One question, what's the most popular repair ? My guess would be thumb nail tack holes in the corners.

Great restoration, for me I’d keep it dirty and wouldn’t have messed with it at all.
@Coolestmovies6 күн бұрын
You’d be absolutely right to do that, because everything they do to these posters - as beautiful as the finished products look - degrades their value more than if they were left in their current state but secured tightly (but not permanently) in a plastic sleeve or enclosed frame. The client here sounds like he wants to preserve this in part for its future financial value, but everything they’ve done to it has robbed it of that because it’s had materials added to it (to touch up the inks, fill in the tears, etc). Based on other videos, they seem to permanently fuse/adhere them to those backing boards (and never address comments that bring it up), so that’s another layer of authenticity and collector value removed.

@Coolestmovies All of our processes are fully reversible. We provide our services for individuals, dealers and auction houses all over the world and our services typically aim to increase the life span of ephemera which was designed to be thrown away after the promotions/events. We don’t speak to the value of pieces we work on because we are not appraisers and at the end of the day the value of collectibles are determined by the collector. Through our decades of experience within the industry, we can say that our processes do not rob the pieces of all value.
@Max-million6 күн бұрын
@ it’s beautiful work. Lots of talent to make these posters look so good for sure, amazing work. I think the process is more suited for family heirlooms and things with no value other than to the person/family that treasures it.

@@FourthConeRestoration Thanks for following up. I was referring to you folks not addressing comments in the past about the additive and (possibly, I thought) permanent nature of the processes, not the value of the products before or after treatment. And as much as I admire the incredible skills and tools on display in these videos, I’m just a little skeptical that everything can be undone if someone ever wanted to verify the ‘true’ appearance of a high-dollar purchase (especially wherein the seller doesn’t admit that restoration work has been done). I mean, are the paints and inks used to touch up the artwork fully removable? If so, that’s great. Also, thanks for clarifying that the work doesn’t rob the pieces of all value. My comment probably sounded like I thought they did, when in fact my suspicion is only that the processes decrease the value of the posters to somewhere lower than their ‘book value’, even though they look a million times better. One thing that might be cool, and silence skeptics like me 😉 is a video showing the reversing of the processes on a poster that has no value either way.

What a great video, and a very interesting poster! Beautiful work, as usual. I'd never heard of this one, pretty wild that they were giving them away, signed. I looked this poster's value up, according to other auctions, and it looks to be worth over $3K! A very nice collectible, and you've added to its condition 👍

Think of this video as a screenplay, and in a screenplay you’re supposed to show, not tell. This is basically an exposition dump. I want to see them actually working on the poster. Their techniques, the tools they’re using. This is merely a seven minute before/after shot.

We have quite a few videos on our channel showing more detailed techniques if you’d like to check them out 😊
