A set of rollers and small press break would help you fabricate those small pieces a lot more efficiently. However you do an incredibly job. I’ve been in sheet metal all my working life and did my apprenticeship with a panel beater how could do amazing things with a hammer.

I like this video series. This is the way I make panels. Drawing, scribing, cutting, & bending right in the vehicle. I worked at a shop that brought a kid in that spent his day, drawing everything out in CAD, then running it through the CNC plasma table. Apparently, the shop likes modern technology, so I no longer work there. Oh, we'll. At least I know this kind of fabrication is still being done

Nice panel repair there, the sills must be the most difficult panel repairs on such a rusty vehicle, because of the door gap and the sill is holding all that weight above. One chomp at a time and the whole elephant will be done......"badda bim, badda ba". Lol🐞

So for every 20 minutes of screen time that's like 8 hours of work? Every corner of the suspension supports, both rockers, floors, trunk, fenders(wings), rear quarters, lots of layers...so maybe 150 hours of fab time, that's $15kusd for a completed metal shell. Not completely insane. There is still tons of upside on this little gem! Good stuff!

Great work Ryan, can i ask, as you've been opening up box sections and multi layered areas it looks like the metal is untreated/not painted in any way, would that be because the cars being mainly hand built no painting or rust prevention happened until the bodyshell was complete?

Drill holes that are too large to weld in their parts. Take a 4 mm drill bit.🤨
@vietnammodelingКүн бұрын
I would say around 6mm. He is doing around 10mm, which brings in a lot of heath when welding you don't want.
@Zeem415 сағат бұрын
I've tried using a 6mm drill bit for plug-welding holes, and the welds didn't stick. I've found an 8mm drill bit and quite a high power setting on the welder works quite well. I'm only an amateur though.
