Devin the cloudyness means the metal isn't reaching curing temp, or it wasn't in long enough. Leave it in a bit longer and see if that works

Your detailing skills has come a LONG way in the past few years that I have been following you. Car looks amazing now! Quick tip on PPF that I have learnt throughout my career, boil a kettle and pour the boiling water on the PPF and then start peeling. It'll loosen all the glue and leave minimal residue, and chances of peeling paint will be less too!

You are correct, the forged BBS wheels only came in black for the Series Hyperblue. Its crazy to see you restoring a HB, I still have never seen another one in person except for my own. Hopefully one day Bader can build mine, but id have to cross the country to get to him. Thank you for keeping one of these alive, they do deserve it.

Maybe you should try going a little hotter in the big oven. Remember that the smaller one has a smaller space to keep at temperature while the bigger has more space to heat. Or preheat at a higher temperature and then bring it back down

I miss my hyper blue STI. The black wheels had a very nice black gloss. On mine, I had wheels painted in white with a hyper blue pearl Devin. They looked friggin amazing. Can't wait to see your next mod

I bought a Hyperblue pretty recently. Previous owner parked it under a tree and left me a bunch of beautiful sap stains. Luckily a lot of it was PPF and I could just peel it off, but for the roof the stains were so deep I'm thinking I'll have to respray. Whole car got a 2 step paint correction and ceramic coat except for the roof. I had to respray the wing because of a defect and I just used touch-up-direct and that went incredibly well. Can't recommend them enough. Your car looks amazing! Can't wait to see more.

Enjoyed the series of bringing this thing back to life. If I could offer a suggestion, load up the microfiber with more coating. I know they say "less is more" but laying down a good thick layer guarantees a proper application, and you'll still only use 3/4 of the bottle tops.

Look up the rupes head mod. You add washers and it helps it spin more and speeds up correction time. Feels much better. I love my rupes. Paid for itself 10x

@Devin Tip foreremoving clear bra / PPF .... get a water kettle like you would use for making Tea... the hot water softens the adhesive, and makes removal trivial. The adhesive will stay on the film, and not the paint, eliminating the chance of paint peel ( on OEM paint that is).

Absolutely love the out come! Would fix the bumper but also get the 18+ as well You can wipe and coat a vehicle however you will be no means get the protection for the amount of years that the product has. Polishing is the only way to do that

As far as powder coating rims and such I would go for a epoxy primer powder then powder coat them the color you wish after the epoxy. The epoxy will prevent chipping and makes the color set better. Been a powder coat specialist for 3years now total of 5yrs experience

Oh! I hope the finger print on the top of the front rim on the rack got fixed before you baked them. You can see it at 4:29 just on the top of the front and center wheel.

I'd suggest repainting the wing and the hood scoop. I had my car polished and both of those parts had clear coat failure in a couple months. The stock clear is just thin af.

You should check out the new line of Turtle wax ceramic coatings, works really well and lasts up to mths to a yr I think, I use it and love it.

Did the oven come with thermocouples to monitor zones in the oven? Maybe you got hot/ cold zones or as others said to run her longer to account for heat loss from opening the door and setting the rims up after the initial preheating. Solid work as always.

Cloudiness is normally related to part temperature ramp up time. Usually I will crank my oven up to 450-475 and put the wheels in. Then turn the temperature back down. Also Ink Black isn't a very good powder honestly. It normally lays better with two lighter coats anyways

I had horrible luck with the Cerakote Trim coat. It all spider webbed and cracked after hardening. Not sure if I just had some moisture but honestly, all 4 mudguards got messed up over time. Was odd, curious how it turns out for you.

I think these are not usual STI alum wheels. My memories are that BBS are magnesium wheels and powder coating is not the best choise for them.
