That motor never ran again.... Smashed bearings, no main crankcase gasket, blocked oiler pump, blocked air filter, spray paint inside the crank case ..... Wow.... really something you don't see every day

USA speaking here, i would never buy anything that was restored like that. You are right, this is is not an old saw by any means. There are so many much older, and I have owned and used them for many years before this saw was made. The last saw I bought was a 361.

Why go through all that work to restore a chainsaw and not even try to start it. I recently restored my homelite super XL 925 and use it almost 2 or 3 times a month it's a heavy saw but it has plenty of power and torque

U painted the air filter which lets air through n then u painted the exhaust. What do u think will happen when that exhaust heats up.

"Old stihl" a ms381. The old stihl are: 08s, 051, 056. Ms381 is a 2006/2007 chainsaw, definitely old is excessive. This is a very used machine, but it didn't need a repaint, just a deep wash and change filters, fuel pipes, spark and a good sharped chain. The chainsaws are machines used for hard work not for vernissage. Don't need it a repainting body, handle, exhaust exc, but need it a refill fuel mix and oil chain and make it work from sunrise to sunset. Sorry for my wrong english because i'm italian.
