Good timing! I just committed to reconditioning a 327 for a local charity. This should help.

Obviously learning to be a sewing machine repairer/restorer requires one to be fluent in the correct terminology..."spewing it's guts" for example. I shall make a note of that. Happy New Year Miss Molly, keep up the Supervisory work.

Yep - the technical terms are overrated :) Molly is grateful for the job. Happy New Year to you too.

Hi, Great videos! I see you have worked on both a singer 328 and 401. I currenty have recently accuired a working 328p and a necchi supernova (close to working). Now a 401G has now become available in good condition. I am keen to start making my own backpacking gear using mostly lightweight fabrics but not sure which of the above machine would be best? The heavyest job would probably be several layers of webbing? If you have any comments that would help that would be appreciated. Thanks

Sure appreciated your reciting the belt serial number in episode 2. My 328K new to me since Tuesday needed a belt. The parts list did not show it. I have one on the way to me in Seattle.Wa. Wondered if off camera you touched on the commutator. It can be seen through a small hole in the under carriage arms. Possibly accessible with a 1/4" Diamond D abrasive without removing the motor. I was able to reach it with some sandpaper on a modified Popsicle stick..

Just how long did you apprentice I don't know if there's anyone that still does that in the USA. Well f you had a hairdryer and set it on low warm you could have gotten some of the wax build-ups safely I had gotten a few crayons marks up without issue from walls and water rings too

It was a 3 year apprenticeship. Non existent now though. Thanks.
