RESTORING VINTAGE SURFBOARDS | surfboard repairs

In this video, my boyfriend and I show you how we fix and restore my dad's vintage surfboards from the 60s and 70s. The process took us about 5 days total.

Nice work. What happened to the wave tools? Any reason you you solar res instead of resin and catalyst?

The wave tools board was actually in pretty good condition so we didn’t have to do much to it! And my bf says we used solar resin because it was quicker and easy to dry in the sun

@@brisurfs when you pour sole rez into area that doesn’t allow light completely in like a hole, it may not cure correctly. Regular res is always the best if you have time

Nice. The only thing I can think on the nose is cutting out a mirror image on the left side so it looks like it was a deliberate little touch to make it unique.

Thank you for sharing that, I am very close with my dad and love him very much! I always cherish every moment with him. He hasn't been in the water in over 20 years but I'm trying to get him back out there so we can surf together

The old dewy Weber would be worth a pretty penny and anyone that grew up in the OC area during the late 70s early 80s would know the wave tool brand One of my friends from Newport Harbor Danny quack used to ride for them
