Good morning! I have been down that exact same road a few times and pretty much same results on the gadgets I tried. Including the ""I want to believe"! That statement really sums it up (plus reminds me of Fox Mulder's mindset). I think the gadgets actually work in an indirect way because we drive more conservatively to give them a fair chance to work and the result is an improvement in mpg. You are absolutely right though, it is really hard to do a comparison in real world conditions if the change is not substantial. Road conditions, weather conditions, wind direction, cargo, are all very hard to duplicate. Thanks for the vid!

You paid for a flashing light show under your dash. I hope you like the colors. Get a real ecu tune. $400-800. And a high flow catalytic converter and just do general maintenance on your ignition and fuel system if you want better efficiency.

This is a joke. I took this item apart and much to my surprise ( not ) its pins are not connected . they do not pick up info from the OBD PORT. Only the pin connected to the light receives power. Its a SCAM

My neighbor put one in his 2016 Chevy 3/4 ton diesel. He said you gave it about 2 to 300 me and start watching your DIC he told me he was getting about 10 to 12 extra miles a gallon depending on normal driving conditions helps if you have a good DIC to show mph.

The idea that it uses software to somehow make your engine more fuel efficient should be a dead giveaway. Energy efficiency in an engine is pretty much just about lowering heat bleed off, which will have little to nothing to do with software.

There's about a dozen of these "fuel savers" out there. None of them do anything to help your fuel economy. It's a box with a chip in it. I wouldn't plug up anything into my ODB II, unless it was for an engine check or key programming.

I am a retired Master Mechanic, and am gifting a couple to friends with old Chevy trucks. Considering how many are saying it's a scam device, plus they Advertise to 30% improvement, but the package says 15%, I have my doubts. Still, giving them for free to buddies, seems reasonable. One tuber reported negligible results on a 1000 mile drive, so I won't be buying any more for certain.

@@simplybiking if you want better fuel economy make sure your tires are inflated correctly, your maintenance is up to par (fresh oil, good plugs, clean intake filter) and don’t carry any unnecessary weight in the vehicle.
