Nice video. One suggestion: lose the music. The goodness is the truck and your narrative. :)

I know short beds look better but I like my long bed on my 1969 C10, actually looked for a long bed , where I can haul longer items with the gate up. Yes, it is a work truck .
@Harrybowles19692 жыл бұрын
same 69 longbed. I keep toying with idea of shortening it but don't think I can bring my self to do it

I’m looking at a 72 c10 right now. What can you say about the cost of restoring it was?

That bumper is the cherry on top! My ‘70 C20 has the original bumper from Frankston Chevrolet in TX, but San Antone is cool as dirt!

Nice wheel, a fair bit of sweat getting the rest nice, I'm looking forward to watching it's progress.Good luck.

Think id patch in the bed quick and get a plastic bed liner..maybe alloy checker plate for the top of bed. Powder coat mat black..if you get a belt sander with a fine paper you could make a patena paint job. Cool base colour. Pull the engine is easy and pull sump..could be simple as a stuck starter. Hard to break a chevy motor.. but pull motor new timming chain..etc etc. Keep it simple..it will look good. Nice truck. Good luck.

Love the video. Love the truck. I hope someone else takes on the parts of the restoration to get it back on the road. Michigan doesn't have anything left, in that good of condition.

FYI they came like that. It's called three on the tree. Or colum shifter. Cool project bro.
@74nova363 жыл бұрын
Oh he thought the stick was for an auto? So they did mate 350s up to those 3 speeds? I was considering swapping a 327 or 350 into my 74 nova but wanted to keep the three speed
@Harrybowles19692 жыл бұрын
@@74nova36 yea they came with 350 SB or 396 BB in 1970 to that 3 on a tree. put a 700r4 in mine for the overdrive. gets 18 to the gallon now

Cool find. Yeah these aren't as cheap as they were in the 90s, but they aren't as popular as the 73-87 years as of currently. At the same time, the 67-72s were popular before the Square Bodies were, so that could be why the value has gone down a couple hundred bucks, lol. In that condition it's around $1300 dollars and that has a role in the value too.

I saw that your bed looks trashed, the front panel rotted out, bed floor rotted, and at least 1 side rotted out. Lmc truck has quality replacement panels, I ended up getting the whole bed from them in pieces and put it together. I opted to get the wood floor, it was less money than a steel floor and looks cool but if I were to use it I would go steel floor.
@streamlinebuilds14903 жыл бұрын
Yeah a company in found was making inner bed side patches but sadly its discontinued
@carguy30283 жыл бұрын
@@streamlinebuilds1490 for me the fact that it would need to be patched plus the time spent straightening out the bed side and $450 for a replacement side sounds really good. My whole bed with all new metal, oak wood floor, stainless steel strips and roll pan ran about 2k. Considering used short beds run $1500 and are rough 2k and no body work sounds good.

I like the older chevy trucks. We have about 50 of the 67 thru 72 trucks. most are parts trucks. I even have a 71 thats a factory big block.

Dude, this is a jewel and a piece of art that can help with PTSD. At any rate, what year, make, model did the Nissan Wheels come off and did you have to modify the wheels and what were the size 16 inch? Let me know. I need a set of wheels to move mine around. My is almost as rusty as yours. Thanks in advance.

Since Toyota and Nissan 4x4 have larger hub bore size than GM any generation wheels will fit that are 6lug. I hope you enjoy your project!

I know exactly what l would do to this truck. Change the front clip to 67-68, change to 4 wheel drive positract frnt.rear, redo interior w-factory air w-tach. make it like CST of that era. Also electric wi ndows & seats, insulate whole cab with sound deadner. Take the whole truck apart down to frame. What would you sell it for as is?

In Texas you apply for a bonded title, in other states like Oregon you just apply for a lost title and in 30 days if the previous owner doesn't claim the vehicle you get the title.
