An old trend is returning to merely allegorize the resurrection of Jesus Christ as a symbolic/archetypal happening, whether or not it actually occurred. Research into the Shroud of Turin may help some people increase in faith as it pertains to the resurrection. We cannot recreate the image that was burned into the shroud even with today's technology. From everything researchers have discovered about it, the image seems to have been created by a massive radioactive blast of intense light. Almost like the shadows burned onto walls from the nuclear blast in Japan in WW2. In addition to this, the image does not show flattened spots or pressure points on the back side meaning that the body was most likely levitating off of the stone platform it was originally laid on when the flash of light occurred. Very interesting stuff to research.

I could have phrased this better. The gospel is the message that Jesus Christ has conquered death therefore eternal life belongs to those that believe and those that don't will have eternal death.

Dynamic Love Ministries Hey Bertie - love ya and I know you’ve been into conditional immortality for quite a while. But we’ll have to agree to disagree. I was actually already planning to do a video on this subject in the coming months. The Gospel is not the story of “Old Yeller” where God puts us out of our misery. Unfortunately people don’t filter their eschatology through their Christology, which is the proper hermeneutic. Christologically the incarnation proleptically conditions creation. Humanity has it’s existential grounding in Jesus. The indestructible life of Jesus Christ cannot be obliterated. He didn’t give that life to some men, but to the human race (by means of His own becoming human - the Last Adam). One’s attempt to escape that reality of Christ (or the True Self) IS the hell of our choosing. But one thing for certain is we cannot diminish it. For all are elect in His own election (Barth). The imago Dei is not destroyed by the Fall. It is the divine image that still lingers on the man, which he cannot shake, and becomes his very tormenting judgment (his hell). For the very presence of God, which he longs to escape - is imprinted on his very being. Hell is ultimately a denial of your own being. The ontological grounding of our being is in Jesus Christ, who is God FOR humanity. Hell is the fire of His love chasing us. If we properly define hell this way (as much as it can be defined anyway ... this is a much older, orthodox version than the eternal conscious torment of modernity), then the pressure is alleviated to innovate workarounds like conditional immortality. All of humanity is defined by God’s humanity in Jesus. We’re in an existential relation that cannot be diminished, only denied.

Hey, you're saying I'm an immortal in this life? Does this mean that I can live as long as I want to in this life because that's what Jesus has done for me? When Paul talks about our life I only read that we're mortals and that this mortal must put on immortality at some point in time like the final literal resurrection as if we don't have it and that we'll only have it in the final resurrection. And what I hear you and Dr. Fairchild and I think Bertie Brits saying is that it's possible to be immortal in this life even before the final literal resurrection of us all in Christ's return. Explain to me if that's what you're saying and how Paul says that explicitly? I only hear Paul talking about immortality being possible within the mystery he speaks about not all of us sleeping. Is that what you're referring to?

Our hope for heaven in the future is 100% based on the truth that we've been raised in the past in Jesus. And when we die we believe we are gonna just continue on to where we believe by faith we've been since the resurrection. In the meantime we aren't holding on to get to heaven, we are holding on FROM Heaven

Keep in mind, the thief on the cross, when he asked Jesus to remember him when he comes into his kingdom, Jesus says TODAY you will be with me in paradise. Where were their bodies? Where were they? Paul says to be absent from the body is to be home with the LORD. Paul says flesh and blood cannot inherit the Kingdom of God. 1 Cor 15. 42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: 43 It is sown in dishonor; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a SPIRITUAL body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. Jesus had to be resurrected in the body for our sake. That body can change form. He appeared in a different form and they could not recognize him as HE walked with them. The resurrected body, molecules and particles could go Quantum and pass through walls. It's the same but wholly different. According to the Bible Jesus is the SPIRIT that dwells within us. The apostle John was weeping, the elder says stop and behold the Lion of the tribe of Judah, so I turned and beheld the LAMB as if slain STANDING in the midst of the throne (all power and authority). Seven eyes, seven horns. LOTs of symbolism, for a picture really does communicate more than a thousand words. Resurrection YES, but this incorruptible body is different. I think Jordan Peterson's APPROACH is towards the darkness without alienating communication is strategic. Jude calls it snatching out of the fire. Like the Athenian poets and philosophers, Paul took them where they were in order to bring them to TRUTH. From an IDOL with the inscription " TO THE UNKNOWN GOD" Paul leads them to the TRUTH, some received, some did not. It's almost always that way. John great statements at 38 minutes to .....the bodily resurrection as a reciept of our ACQUITTAL!

The word for "Paradise" is only used 3 times in the scriptures. In the Greek, its shares the same root word as the word to "surrender". Paradise is not the same meaning as the word for Heaven. In its fairly loose translation it can be understood to mean "a state/place of surrender". This translation isn't in lexicons, but the definition in lexicons for usage of the word παράδισο is simply innacurate if you know the Greek language. When Jesus said "today you will be with me in paradise" it aligns to the statement in scripture of "the body returns to the dust, and the spirit goes back up to god who gave it." When you die your spirit will return back to God in a state of complete surrender.

It’s a jungle out there of different interpretations of the scriptures. Everyone THE correct one of course. Every preacher and teacher can quote the bible back- and forwards so at least one thing is clear: bible reading itself doesn’t save or lead to The Truth. Of course no loving Father would extradite his children to navigate in such a confusing way. And realizing all cruelty and suffering in the world hardly point at a God of love but a sadistic despot. The old teodize problem strikes over and over.

Amen John. The apostles are the witnesses of Jesus' resurrection from the dead. Thankfully, we have the testimony of Thomas, who had to "examine the evidence." 1 Cor. 15:12 Now if Christ is preached, that He has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13 But if there is no resurrection of the dead, not even Christ has been raised; 14 and if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is vain, your faith also is vain. 15 Moreover we are even found to be false witnesses of God, because we testified against God that He raised Christ, whom He did not raise, if in fact the dead are not raised. 16 For if the dead are not raised, not even Christ has been raised; 17 and if Christ has not been raised, your faith is worthless; you are still in your sins. 18 Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. 19 If we have hoped in Christ in this life only, we are of all men most to be pitied. What did Paul mean about dying daily? Yes it was to the old man Saul. For he said, it is no longer I that lives but Christ in me. Who is Christ? the love of God made manifest. And paul summed it up that against love there is no law. He spoke of his old life when division came. He said I speak as a man (ego). How he ticked all the boxes and was great at what he did. Even being an accuser of the brethren. But he pretty much said he considered all those works crap compared to what he did now even though he may not have been the greatest speaker among them. So that is the sticks hay and stubble that will be burned up. Doesnt matter if you were the best at math, the best speaker, the most beautiful, the most muscular. The smartest, the dumbest. All of the temporary labels we go by here on earth will be burned up. Do you see how God leveled the playing field? The world immortalizes works. But in reality God immortalizes those who never got a break. Are you a sinner? God came for you, not the self righteous, or the strong, or the smartest, or the richest, or the most loved among men. You who the world does not want, he wants you.

If your going to the backslidden husbands cubicle at work full of the glory. Sounds more like the glory we’ve been hoping for has been hidden in us for ages and generations. I see Adam in the garden with only the knowledge of the one he opened his eyes to see. And Eve brings him the fruit the knowledge of good and evil. Knowing she was already going to die. So he causes Adam to eat and he empties him self out. But if there is the knowledge of good and evil. Then there can’t be good apart from God. There’s that we’ve only heard a whisper. So then they cleave to each other and Seth is born. He’s then killed by Cain. And God marks him with sin. And he becomes a wanderer. Over rivalry of a sacrifice for God. But what’s the sin disobedience? No. It was accusation. We see no accusation from God. Comes cause the commandment produces an opportunity to accuse.

Why was Jesus crucified? What was he accused of doing wrong? He identified as the one and only son of God. The pharisees called themselves sons of God but Jesus said all that came before me were thieves and liars. The Resurrection is what proved he was the son of God. The one who the pharisees told only God could forgive sins, and Paul said. If they had known what the cross they hung him on represented (tree of life) they would never have done it. He made an open show of them, for God was in Jesus reconciling the world to himself. He who knew no sin became sin for us. Blessed be the Lord God what TAKES AWAY the sins of the world. No more hiding in shame from the one who loved you before the foundation of the world. The same spirit that raised Jesus from the dead is in us.
