Bought three from a store in my local mall that caters to practitioners of wicca and other new age religions. Because these plants are used in various rituals. I know I'm two years too late, but you can't leave these plants in water they could get moldy. Letting them dry out to their tumble weed like form is a must.

To clarify: you have the false rose of jericho, sometimes just called rose of jericho, which is also called the resurrection plant. The other plant you’re talking about that is also called “rose of jericho” is NOT a resurrection plant and while they are also sold they will NOT unfurl or green up because they are dead when sold.

Pretty neat! I've managed to resurrect compressed dry New Zealand sphagnum moss by keeping it wet for almost a year (for propagation of other plants in it)
@bennetriley19884 жыл бұрын
That’s pretty cool. Maybe I’ll give that a try. I love moss, and I’m always trying to grow it because it looks so good in terrariums.

The plant in this video is the "false" rose of Jericho. It's one of two types of ROJ. The "true" ROJ is a different species called Anastatica hierochuntica.

I'm Confused. Can you help me? I have a rose of Jericho I just bought. The first 4 days was fine but now it seems like she is loosing leaves. What could be wrong? I read someone said refill and change water everyday. And water her with distilled water. I pick her up and leaves are coming off.

Were you able to keep this plant alive after the fact? I’m interested in selaginellas and was thinking of putting one in my terrarium if it seems like they’re sold with enough roots to survive.
@bennetriley19883 жыл бұрын
Hi! I haven’t been taking the best care of it actually lol. I let it dry out and go dormant, then I soak it and revive it. Then it dries out and happens all over again. Lol. I probably should have potted it properly. Maybe then it would grow consistently. I still just have it in a dish of pebbles. There’s are selaginellas that are more hardy and vigorous, maybe give one of them a try.

@@bennetriley1988 I have two and they are doing beautifully ! Always love a miracle. I was kind of worried, as it took hours for mine to come back to life. The edges are still brown and curly, but they are so pretty! I am in the dead of winter where I live and watching this was truly fun and fascinating Thanks again! I plan to send some to my grandkids.
