Resuscitation Council (UK) CPR/ AED Demo

This is a brief extract from the demo DVD which accompanies the 2nd edition of ''Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Automated External Defibrillation'' training manual, published by the Resuscitation Council (UK) in April 2011.
It shows part of the CPR process with the use of an AED. The video clip has reduced resolution for viewing over the web - the video quality of the DVD is much higher.
The CPR/ AED training manual is suitable for anyone with a specific need or interest in learning CPR / AED skills e.g. carers, first aid providers and healthcare professionals. It is based on Guidelines 2010 and provides the content and learning outcomes that should be achieved on CPR/AED courses.

ComeRaceWithMe yea with you on that, and what’s with the air...we giving oxygen (well not a lot) or trying to inflate a zeppelin. I’m thinking reflux big time, blockage, acid bigger trouble. Good job it’s just old faithful Annie

This demonstration is to show how a member of the public would be able to do CPR with an AED not a manual defib in which a trained professional would use so yes youd be correct if manual defib but in this scenario the AED itself has to analyse the rhythm and for that to happen it requires the person to come off the compressions.
