Here I do most of my work on clocks. Mainly cuckoo clocks, yet I am always looking for the unusual and eye catching clocks. Some of the clocks I get into are ones that need saved from the dump. They fell off the wall from not securing the clock to the wall using the stud behind the sheetrock. Some of the clocks were laid to rest out in the garage or barn and I except the challenge of getting them back together again.
A well loved clock at one time is one that has a lot of wear and you find old bushings that might need to be replaced.

It is similar to mine, I just turned the little stud 42:03 that the wire goes on and it works perfect straight now. Not a second slow or fast too its perfect. HOw do I know what year mine is?

I am one of the worst person to ask about the age of a clock. The few things I know is that in 1970 they started putting a date or a code date on the movements. In 1950, they stopped making movements with a count wheel on them, not saying that some companies didn't have a stockpile of those movements for later clocks. Some people are good at finding old ads of these clocks and some find the clocks in books or on line of the brand of clock. It's hard sometimes to find the clock because the movement might have been put in many different clock companies that only made the box or only sold clocks and never put them together. I haven't seen an oiler that can suck back up when you release the pressure on it. Do you know where you found yours?

I think you are right. The man that had this clock tried to put a clock together using a bunch of different clocks. He may not of known what he was doing, but I give him some Kudo's for trying. Maybe he learned something while doing his work on the clock. Just the same, I am doing my best to figure this all out for the guy that has the clock now and not get too much money into the clock.
