We always wondered if we took our primary school examinations at our adult age, what would the results be? Today, we tried out Chinese Oral exams, which we need to read a passage fluently and discuss about a picture fluently in Mandarin.

It's funny and amusing when viewed on the surface. As a Singaporean, I've had a good laugh at this video. :) But on a more serious note, it's really a sad state of affair. After a long 10 to 12 years of learning (actually more if you consider pre-school or kindergarten level), this kind of typical Singaporean Chinese standard is really laughable in a bad way! Not trying to act high and mighty here but I feel our second language (Chinese) education has failed us so badly. I'm commenting in relation to the very eloquent Chinese spoken by foreigners (eg Caucasians) when they only learn it for a few short years from native Chinese teachers. Their fluency in the Chinese language beats practically all of us and puts us to shame. :( And it's not as if our English is anywhere much better even though we learn it as a "first language" in school. Again, listen to how some Europeans speak English and they usually trash our English standard here as well, in terms of fluency and accuracy of pronunciation.

god this brought back so many memories :") had such a fun time watching this though!! really love how much effort was put to replicate an actual oral examination, from having to sit outside for 5 mins with the oral passage and picture scenario, to even greeting the teacher as well in lieu of hopefully better grades :")) would really love to see more of this series!!

6:21 this idiom is quite advance. Not a required idiom to learn during our compulsory education I think. My dictionary documented it as 三步挪做两步。 三步两脚 can also be used instead.三步揦埋两步 is the Cantonese version. I got a feeling this young man might be a Cantonese
