Haven't got a problem yet with a year of use. I used hevi shot brand cause that's all it liked. Kent doesn't cycle because of the hull. Love how easy it is to clean and how it shoots.

Man I love mine. I've had benelli, berretta, and browning. The only thing I can compare it to is a berretta even though it's inertia. I had 2 stove pipes shooting 1oz target koads when I first got it. I put a code black extended on it and shot 3 and 3 1/2 in it for the first year. I also didn't clean it the first year just to see what it would do. I didn't have any problems. Love that gun, it's a great feeling when you have a gun you can trust.

Not sure if I’m a little late but do you ever have a problem with just shooting 3inch shells? I have a pump gun that’s 3.5 and I’m looking to get a retay. I thought about just getting the 3 inch chamber but not sure if I’ll regret that in the field.

hello what drilling chokes are suitable for retay Masai mara? the same as benelli crio plus? please tell me which chokes are better for the closest distance cylinder of which manufacturer kicks patternmaster anaconda skeet briley?

Since this fella is only interested in doing a half-ass review...the 12 gauge line uses the Masai-mara Marapro chokes exclusive to Retay. The 20 gauge uses Benelli Crio plus thread chokes.

Use CLP on the rails inside the receiver to keep the shotgun ejecting as expected.

Have had my retay Masai for a full season. Have tried tons different 3” and 3.5 without issue. Doesn’t like target loads all that much, get the odd stove pipe. I use the pattern master In mine and man does that get out there

I’ve been debating on getting a choke, but I’ll have to pattern my regular chokes and actually test them before I do that.

I have the Air King. My only complaint is that if you hunt while wading, and have the butt stock slightly under water, it will fill up with water and the water is hard to get it back out without taking off the recoil pad and stock.

I love mine.. I bought it used and the dude before me never cleaned it.. gotta get a gunsmith to take the choke out lol but other than that it’s the best shotgun I’ve ever owned

Chris, I had the same ejection issues with high powered loads, especially when the temp drops below 30. I did a video of the issue and the first attempt to fix. However, I still had the ejection issue and had to send the gun to Retay to get the issue fixed. They had to replace the ejector on the bolt. Here's my review. kzbin.info/www/bejne/q4iwq2uXhJeshZo

Just bought a new Masai Mara. Couldn't hit the barn door. I patterned it before making any change. It shot about 3" low. Broke it apart and found installed from factory the shim with the least adjustment. The suppled shim kit only contains shims that would make the gun shoot progressively lower. I need to go the other direction. I've reached out to Retay, so far no response, a bit disappointing. Also disappointed in out of the box performance. In my opinion a quality shotgun out of the box should be close to 50-50 needing only minute adjustment for the individual.

Oh yeah if you didn’t already know. The 3 1/2 Masai Mara doesn’t like light load 2 3/4 shell ‘s( clay target shells). Now granted it is a magnum caliber shotgun I wasn’t surprised. But Retay makes it clear on their website that the magnum shotgun’s don’t like them.

I bought a retay 20ga today 3/23/2022. Put a Carlson turkey tube in it. Shot the federal tss 7 shot and long beard Xr 9 shot both was good but the xr’s did shoot the best. 40 yards xr had 10 more bbs in it.
