EMP's ability to enter a container is similar to Electro Static. If there is an opening, it will find it's way in. Your case would be enhanced if you metal taped the seam. Otherwise, EMP backpacks are relatively inexpensive.

We need to rally the manufacturers to get the FCC to give us 10 more MURS channels and a full 5 watts.

Super affordable, practical, and also look like a lot of fun, especially if you have kids! Gosh I remember summers in the forest and trails with the old versions of these things. We were forever running out of batteries. haha

Good video! I am considering buying some MURS radios and this is one of the models I am considering. It seems that Retevis and Ailunce (same company now) make good quality stuff. I have the Ailunce (sold at the Revetis site) HA1G, and boy that thing is built though with many features. But those are GMRS radios. Even though the bulk of my radios are GMRS, due to their 5 watt TX power output on some channels, I want to have a couple compared to 2 watts for MURS, I was a couple of MURS radios in case I run into a situation in which others I am trying to communicate have MURS radios. I would highly recommend that if you only have MURS radios, that you get yourself at least one GMRS radio. May be a dual band radio too. I got my FCC license for GMRS. The application is easy with no test, unlike HAM. It’s only 30 bucks and it’s good for 10 years. It covers you and all of your immediate family members. Kids, wife, parents, and so on. Revetis is having amazing deal right now for black friday.

Are these radios supported in CHIRP?

I had the RT47V. Mine arrived with a shorted PTT button. Sent it back, trying another one that is 3PK for $70, the RV27B. I'm hoping that with three of them, the chances of one of them being defective out of the box will drastically decrease. I just need it for work, don't need it for anything else. People buying these need to understand that they are Chinese radios that do not have QA Testing. If you're buying cheap, buy a couple of them. Another thing is that these radios run off lithium batteries. If you actually intend to use this in survival situations, get a radio that runs off standard AA, or AAA format. If shit hits the fan you being able to access an electrical outlet with power to charge these would become a problem. You'll likely still be finding functional batteries long after the power goes out.

I'd love to have one in 357 or 44 mag. The shorter cartridge makes it a faster action than the 30-30. Plus it's just cool to have a pistol and a rifle that shoots the same round.

I’d think that, in a SHTF situation, a portable solar panel to recharge them would be a more realistic and reliable option than trying to find AA batteries for the next five years.

Ok im going to have to buy the water proof version. cant believe the price. 2 questions: where can you buy brass knuckles like in the background, and could you show us your first aid kit… i am improving mine, just bought a CAP tourniquet.
@TheHandsOnChannel2 жыл бұрын
I actually found those knuckles when we were test driving a car. I spotted them on the road and said STOP, the salesman looked at me like I was crazy but I got out and picked them up and continued the test drive. Didn't buy the car it was an overpriced POS. Great suggestion on the first aid kit, I think that is a great idea, thanks.

Thanks for the info! What is the range on these, my radio to family radio?
@TheHandsOnChannel2 жыл бұрын
In wooded areas it will go about 1 to 1-1/2 miles before it's too much static to understand.. I will find a flat open area and test the long range. I'm guessing it will go 2-3 miles in more open country.
