I didn't know there were channels assigned between 30 and 60. Is this new?

The private channels are between 28 and 60. Channel 37 (also known as M1) is allocated to all Yacht/sailing clubs & marinas, so tends to be found as standard in most VHF sets these days. Thanks for watching.

@@m7frs272 Ben, thanks, didn't know that there were private channels for marine stations. Maybe not in Canada. Thinking about how they fit into the band, will look it up. 73 ---Oh, hell, of course, you are in the UK! The M call didn't register. was expecting a G. Disregard.

Pretty nice, I think I'll get a set. Then explain to my wife why I need a boat now.

Sounds like the perfect excuse to get a boat! Thanks for watching 👍
Thanks for watching, yes I always give my VHF handhelds a rinse in clean warm water after I've been at sea.

What use have you got for a marine band radio. Let me guess Retevis Gave you one to review But you haven't got a marine band Licence And you probably don't live near the coast So obviously you cannot do an air test which is pointless

Ben does have a Marine Licence and is a Marine Radio instructor leading the VHF marine classes in Lowestoft (Yeah I think Lowestoft qualifies as near the coast????) So... conclusion, londo isn't good at guessing!

Thanks for your comment, I'm an RYA power boat, safety boat and VHF marine radio instructor/assessor and use VHF marine both professional for work and for leasure while out on my RIB and or Kayak, for which, yes I have an offcom ships radio and ships portable licenses. Yes I clearly live on the coast as demonstrated in the video. I would say thanks for watching, but due to your comments I can only assume you've not watched the video lol 🤣🤣🤣
