Or earlier, when they decided to take Anakin home because of his midichlorians? Or was it Padme's choice to romance Anakin, or Darth Sidious' choice to place them together in the first place because he knew they'd fall in love?

@@AlexVictory To be honest we could trace this back all the way back to where the Jedi started associating themselves too much with the republic's politics, perhaps even far away where the Jedi thought all attachments where dangerous and started to restrain emotions rather than work with them as a mature person that doesn't see all in white and black, as Jolee Bindo said, love won't turn you to the darkside, it can even save you from it, it's a positive emotion. There's literally many decisions that changed destiny, Anakin was the chosen one because in his time, it would be the end of the long struggle between jedi and sith, and how would that come to be, he would be in the center of it.

In a movie where everyone has clearly been dialoging what they feel, this is also one of the few silent moments in the film. Yet we all *feel* how much is being said in the silence. The sunset is also visually stunning, and thematically important. This was the moment the sun was setting, and light no longer shone over the Jedi and the Republic; giving way to the shadow of the empire so ominously forming just on the horizon.

The moment Anakin wilfully chose to have an intimate relationship with Padme instead of suppressing his emotions and meditating on the force…was the beginning of the end. The Jedi Code exists for a reason and intimacy in the jedi life is forbidden - precisely to avoid the type of hole which Anakin dug himself into. If he would have actually behaved like a jedi and obeyed the code, he may have never turned to the Dark Side. No wonder Mace Windu, Yoda etc didn’t trust him and wouldn’t let him into the Jedi Council.

When the prequels came out, Hayden Christensen took a lot of heat for poor acting. I think we can say, looking back at the prequels he gave one of the most emotional and convincing Anakin Skywalker performances ever, especially in ROTS. You can really read the pain on his face. I can’t imagine anyone else ever portraying the role.

You gotta give the creator so much more credit, you figure they just took a ton of John Williams pieces, used some overlay footage and called it a day but they really conveyed a progression throughout the audio and you can tell they put a lot of effort construction the retelling of the story, at points it actually gave me goosebumps to imagine Anikan transformed into Darth Vader left with the punishment of reflecting on these horrible memories, great job, you did amazing
