Hey everyone. I've been getting a lot of comments asking about the hiatus on this channel. Well, life suddenly got a lot busier for me lately. I was invited to present panels at two different conventions, which I needed time to prepare for, and I've also been working on other exciting projects. But I've still got some more fun flag videos coming, including the Top 10 Worst City Flags, which I'm having fun putting together right now. :) So, long story short, I'm busy and things take time, but I'm still here. Thank you for understanding.

Hello! I think a really good idea for a video is the previous Macedonian flag, with the Vergina Sun because it caused a LOT of controversy with Greece. They even embargoed us!

You should do what you did with the city flags... Except it's for Liberian county flags.

You know what could be a cool video idea: Letting your viewers make some alternate flag designs and concepts of existing countries for you to review and display in your next video.

This was really cool to watch! Thanks for sharing it on your channel. They really don't emphasize the indigenous peoples in school as much as they should, I believe, and it's a shame that kids miss out on such rich culture here in our own country.

I tip my hat to you for displaying the flag of the Haudenosaunee, or the Iroquois people, which I am from. From a fellow Native American.

Cody Yount honestly one of the best flags I’ve seen and one of the most beautiful flags from America, though my heart is still with my historic English county’s flag (that of middlesex) naturally :)

Hello Peter, I'd love to see a video about different parts of a flag. And different design strategies to create one. And maybe this will also give you a chance to display some flags of your own that you have designed, if any. I look forward to seeing it. Thank you.

That city flag with the gears is actually a really nice design for a business card; useless flag, of course. The black star added on the fly is a bit odd; usually these things go at the top of the hoist, the "position of honour" where they can be seen even on a still day.

what's your opinion on political flags? i really like the bisected anarchist flags. they are almost too simple to call a design but i just like how they form a scheme for related ideologies. also i like many of the relatively newly termed queer identities, such as asexual, genderqueer, non-binary. they are all horizontally striped (like the gay pride flag) but they they tend to have such a nice striking choice of color. then there is the free speech flag, which is just a neat idea that worked surprisingly well, and also makes me nostalgic of a less toxic political climate on the internet.. lastly, the vegan flag is also pretty cool.

It would be cool if you added your own designs as examples of how those disappointing flags could be improved.

I just thought to add another comment. The Métis are actually a bi-racial people; descendants of early French settlers who married into indigenous communities. This makes me wonder if there are any other communities of bi-racial people who identify as a separate community and have a flag as do the Métis?

21:19 The Gila River Indian Reservation flag features a central element (a circle with 7 vertical lines = a native drum?) that would make for a wonderful flag. 27:39 Remove the seal, keep the 7+1 stars - there, a good flag!

Hi Peter - great presentation - most interesting. I notice a number of comments saying about doing redesigns. Can I please leave this link for those people who are interested in being part of the ongoing effort to find the redesign ideas. Link: facebook.com/groups/452687255183305/ it's a face book group called "U.S. State Flags, Current, Historical and Proposed" where currently about 50 people are voting on all the existing redesigns and making new meaningful work. So far we have looked at about 20 states and each month we sign off the best idea and switch states and start all over again. Thanks, Best Regards Alan Hardy

That's why you can't see MOST Philippine provincial flags outside. Not only because of the design. Since these flags have seals, they don't have to fly outside but stay in the Capitol instead. And you what? If the seal looks good, just remove the text around it.

Good presentation. Two things I would have wished. First, it would have been cool to suggest and show your own redesigns. Second, I wish that one guy would have shut up.

Thanks. I was actually quite happy that the audience asked all those questions. It made the panel more fun for me, and it also showed they were interested in what I had to say. :)
