Your right Dan, that hot pot made for some interesting shots... So unusual... Chung could barely fit... The drone work was great, it really showed off the spectacular lake view... Living in New York City, I seen that hair cut on many models... Lets face it, the designers want to show off their latest designs, they don't want to compete with the models beauty, so they choose the model with the most plain Jane look, the hair style helps with that imagery... Sorry Chung obviously you experienced this problem before in your previous career... About your budget, seems you two could just about live anywhere... You are survivalist on a global scale... We the public could learn many ways to stretch one's budget... That's a good thing...

Nice video Dan. Tagaytay is nice and a place we had considered but eventually chose the City of San Fernando about an hour north of Manila. They say our province (Pampanga) is the culinary capital of the Philippines and I don't think we could have chosen a better location to live. We are kind of central and not that far from places like Subic Bay, Zambales, Baguio, ... and a little further a place I've always wanted to visit, ... Ilocos Norte with Saud Beach as well as the Blue Lagoon. As an afterthought check my last few videos if you would like to see a bit about our home at San Fernando.

In fact, You can get a decent fully furnished studio airbnb condo that includes ulitlies, wifi and weekly cleaning service for 300$ a month so you have 700$ for foods and transpo. 100$ a month for food per person is considered decent.

Bag of beans is a delicious place to eat! My filipina wife and I have been to Tagaytay twice and had bad luck there for some reason. We stayed at Crosswinds Resorts and our second trip we stayed at View Park hotel. Both hotels are haunted believe it or not. My wife and I both didn’t feel well during our stays and had a very eerie feeling with strange things happening during both our trips. Beautiful views in Tagaytay but weekends there are very crowded with locals, highly recommend staying thru the weekdays. Our last trip there Taal valcano erupted a week after our stay so living there could be a little dangerous to say the least.

My GF and I stayed there in 2019 for 5 days. We rented a condo overlooking Taal Lake close to the Amusement Park. The weather was nice but still alittle hot and the view over the lake was fantastic. However where we stayed there was not much to do and became boring quickly. About 4 months later the Taale Lake Volcanoe erupted killing many people and livestock. Because of the active volcano I would not want to live there myself but many people do. It was a beautiful place when visited but I did not know how deadly it could be until later.

One of my favorite movies back in the 80s. John Hughes, R.I.P.) ..... Nice haircut, btw. IMPORTANT REMINDER: Although Tagaytay is an elevated area, with its very cool climate, it is very nearby Taal Volcano. Taal is one of the most active volcanoes in the World. All you expats might want to consider THAT, first, before making a final decision to actually live in Tagaytay or not.

We have an AIRBNB there, a condo and our own house is being built this year. It's a delightful place to retire as it has everything you need, including the relatively cooler climate. IMO it's getting busier and busier and at weekends the roads a re-routed to a one way system. At the weekends the tourists from Metro Manila flood in so do your business during the week. We're told that even if Taal Volcano blows the inconvenience would be weeks not years but the jury is out on that one ! lol

Have you guys explored a place called Antipolo City? It's a city in the mountains like Tagatay City, but very near the (eastern?) boundary of the Metro Manila area.

Qiang! And then she only had three bites so I had to eat the rest. If I didn't run 5 days a week I would be porky the pig.

It will depend mostly on how you decide to live in each place Allen. Thanks for watching and commenting. Dan

Your pronunciation is wrong. Tagaytay is pronounced Ta Guy Tigh. My wife from Baguio and I go there often. If you asked a Filipino how to get there with your pronunciation they would not know what you are talking about. It is easy to make that mistake as the same way in Thailand if you asked to go to Pattaya (pronounced Patti ya) Thai people will not know what you are talking about.
