its luck, it's me just being at the right place at the right time. I met a financial and trading consultant at a seminar back at Los Angeles later last year, where she was featured and interviewed and I reached out to her afterwards. Her name is Laura Bledsoe, I didn't know much about trading and investing so I spoke to her about it, she then later introduced me to her platform where I and other people could invest.

I wish Italy had more tax-friendly regimes for American on Social Security, instead of subjecting them to the regular IRPEF. I know they have the 7% program in the south for towns of less than 20,000 population, but that's not a desirable situation for me and my wife.

Two questions, are US Social Security Disability payments taxable in Italy? This is SSD, not SSDI which is completely different in that you cannot collect SSDI overseas. Also, I know the Houston, Texas Consulate and the San Francisco, California Consulate changed the passive income requirement from a total of $38,000 that include both the husband and wife, to $31,000 each, for $62,000. We are under the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Consulate which still haven’t posted their requirements or application? Can each consulate have different passive income requirements?

The only change I have seen is that they raised the amount by 1000 Euro. As far as I understand these are the minimum amounts and if one has more passive income it will help the process. Was the Consulate suggesting the minimum was not going to be enough and it was better to have double the amount?

The Los Angles Consulate is almost impossible to get an appointment. I am a HWI and have bought a place in Italy. It just comes down to getting an appointment

I would like to move to Italy so my question is what visa option would expedite my ability to legally move to Italy so that I can eventually apply for the Elective Residence Visa (ERV)? Some KZbin channels have said that the permit of stay (the permesso di soggiorno) takes less time to acquire so would this visa be a better choice to focus on at least until I can apply for the ERV at a later date after arriving in Italy?

How can I figure out where you can find affordable flats in the historic center of towns convenient to a train station? I have huge doubts that I'll ever be able to pass the test to get a driver's license since I'm not fluent in Italian. I love the places in Abruzzo and Umbria and some parts of Tuscany. But many places look only reachable by car.

Do you know if US veterans disability payments are taxed in Italy? They are not taxed here.

Good luck, I'm Italian born and raised and I still haven't gotten a clear answer on this. Some say yes, it's taxed and others say no since there's no 1099, even commercialistas (accountants) can't give me a straight answer.

Here is my question based on this: "The Italian Elective Residence Visa is for foreigners - retired persons, persons with high self-sustaining incomes and financial assets like HNWIs - who have chosen Italy as the Country of permanent residence [or long-term relocation, we add] and who can support themselves autonomously, without having to rely on employment while in Italy, whether as dependent employees, as self-employed employees or employees working remotely online. You cannot finance your residence in Italy through any work." Can one use vacation rental income from an Italian property that is owned, no loan etc. as passive income? As a fictional example, if you have a rental property in Portofino that nets 75,000 euro a year, can that be used or is that considered "working in Italy"? Cheers!
