Jason Hanson knows how to keep a secret. It's part of his job, actually - he's a former officer of the CIA, or 'The Agency' as insiders call it - along with an instructor in escape and evasion via his his tactical spy school, a frequent media guest on television programs around the world, and even a New York Times bestselling author with his book 'Spy Secrets That Can Save Your Life.' And with a resumé ranging from surveillance to Shark Tank, safe to say Jason's got more than a few good stories worth sharing from the world of intelligence espionage.
So how does somebody become a CIA Operative? What kind of work was Jason doing when he worked at the Agency? And just what exactly is the CIA up to nowadays, in a digital world that's constantly connected? Let's meet Jason.

I'm a big fan of your show Mike! I urge you to have Massad Ayoob as a guest. His resume is about as long as a thesis. Almost everything I know about firearms is credited to him. I took his LFI-1 (now called MAG-40) course years ago to learn the legalities of self-defense shooting for which he's most known for. Please take inviting Massad Ayoob into consideration.

Guys, please don’t attempt to bribe a cop in Western Europe. I assume he’s talking about Eastern Europe because that stuff won’t fly in the vast majority of Europe. His advice will work 9 out of 10 times in Latin America though.

This podcast autoplays after almost every gun video I watch. I do not like this KZbin channel at all I find it pretty annoying in general because it's boring. The intro is super cringe and honestly I think the intro is just so cringy it makes it where I can't take anything else that's mentioned in the entire podcast seriously and I desperately wish for it to stop playing by itself. If the owner of this channel sees this message please block me

Wait Cia OPERATIVE? NO. IF HE WORKED FOR THE CIA DIRECTLY HE WOULD HAVE BEEN AN OFFICER OR AN ANALYST. IN HIS DESCRIPTION HE WOULD HAVE BEEN A FIELD OFFICER WHICH IS WHAT YOU THINK OF AS A SPY CAN NEVER KEEP HIS STORY STRAIGHT I'VE HEARD JASON REFERRED TO HIMSELF AS AN OFFICER I'VE HEARD HIM REFERRED TO HIMSELF AS AN AGENT AND I'VE HEARD HIM REFERRED TO HIMSELF AS AN OPERATIVE A REAL CIA FILLED OFFICER WOULD NEVER ANNOUNCE IT TO ANYBODY MUCH LESS CALL THEMSELVES AN OPERATIVE AN OPERATIVE OR WHAT WOULD ACTUALLY BE TURNED AN ASSET IS SOMEONE THAT YOU RECRUIT TO WORK FOR YOU BUT THEY DON'T ACTUALLY WORK FOR THE CIA AND THE CIA KEEPS NO RECORD OF THEM BASICALLY THEY'RE A NARC IF YOU WANT TO THINK OF IT THAT WAY THIS GUY' ISN'T LEGITIMATE AT ALL
