Fun fact. The Abrams and Leopard 2 started life as a German-American joint project - MBT70 - before they scrapped it for technical, cost and requirement reasons. But the tech was used to develop the Leopard 2 and the US later used the general gun. So the two tanks are cousins.

It is not just about having the tanks. It is about operating them effectively and then comes services and repair. It seems like these tanks will be one-time-use equipment on the battlefield. Imagine bringing Abram tanks to Ukraine’s east front and then take them back to Poland for service and repair. Not to mention that these tanks will get stuck in Ukrainian mud, because they are quite heavy. Eventually, Ukrainians will lose more tanks than they get. There is only one solution and it is for NATO and the US to directly deploy their troops on the battlefield and fight Russia face to face, which they are too scared to do. It will be the beginning of WWIII and the end of civilization on earth. In such an eventually, NATO will lose greatly. Surely, Russia will be totally destroyed but so will every 30 NATO member state.

NATO is still a joke. Germany still only has 200 tanks and they are contributing very little to this war as ALL of the EU has given 30 billion dollars into this war. While the USA a lone has given 113 billion and thats before the tank transfers. The EU and the rest of Nato is the USA little brother which it will always have take care.

Russia had hoped for a negotiation to end hostilities. But NATO would have none of that. Russia choose to withdraw to better defensive positions and to shorten a huge front line. Then they have been preparing for new offensive to at least take all Donbas. Then they might take Kyiv or even keep going to Polish border. There is nothing the west/NATO can do to stop this. Which is why I think it is stupid to keep supplying them until the last Ukrainian soldier has fallen.

Russia's (Soviet) strategy: put civilians and criminals in army suits, give them low quality equipment and send them in large numbers down one front. As opposed to their early war efforrt of sending them down many fronts. But although it may look pressing at Bakhmut -- and obviously we don't wish any setbacks for our Ukrainian allies and friends -- ultimately Russia is going to accomplish nothing except huge casualties for every inch they take. Western leaders: do the right thing and do not be afraid of escalations. Send Ukraine any type of weapon we can. Russia is killing far more Ukrainians than losing its own soldiers. And they have over 500,000 ready to advance. Remember places like Bakhmut are in Donetsk so residents would likely fight on the Russian side. Ukrainian forces are the outsider in Donbas. They are not fighting for their lands, yet.
