Paul, I don't know what you did but you are gaining like 500 subscribers a day - absolutely amazing. I remember the day you had a total of 500 - hahaha. Your outstanding sense of humor and honest chat is finally catching on like wildfire. As of Sunday night (26 Apr) you are showing 8.52K - amazing!!! The only downside, but truly and upside from your point of view and I can deal with it, is the large amount of ads on your channel. I just endured a 6 min single ad just now and over the course of your whole video there were like 7, most under 1 minute thankfully. (The long one worked out great for a bathroom break - hahaha). Anyway, I always let the ads play all the way through as I know it helps out your channel if you do. Keep up the great vlogges and best wishes always. You definitely have your work cut out to answer all the comments now - :)

Paul, so glad to have found your channel. I feel like you could be speaking to me. I’m coming up on my 61st birthday and am burned out and depressed at times with the daily grind of corporate America and all of the related stresses. Like you, I also had a heart attack a couple of years back and am looking for another way. Strongly considering retiring at 62 and making some life changes. Your video’s have given me a lot to think about and consider. Appreciate you sharing your insight and experiences.

Cool video, cool channel! It's something how KZbin finds (suggests) videos for me. My wife of 8 years and I live in Florida. She still keeps me around after all that time, so she's very special, and as you said, I feel it is my duty to help her set up her future. I'll be 65 soon, she's 40. Like many there, she was brought up in a nipa hut with no electricity and no plumbing. Since she's been here she has built a block home with running water and electricity for her family, and I'm very proud of her. Anyway, you have another new subscriber now... lots of luck to you!

I wish you both all the best in your future endeavors! 😊

I have been told that Medicare does not pay for medical bills in foreign countries. So what do you do about health care?
@paulinthephilippinesolddog92348 ай бұрын
Hi @richier53 Thanks for reaching out! Yes, Medicare doesn't cover medical expenses abroad, but there are some alternatives to consider. We have a local health insurance plan that covers us here in the Philippines. It's not as comprehensive as Medicare, but it helps with unexpected medical costs. Also, many hospitals and clinics offer affordable rates for foreigners, so we can get quality care at a lower cost than what we would pay back home. How about you? Have you found any similar alternatives for healthcare while living abroad?

I was married to a Filipina nurse that I met here in the states for 33 years until she passed from cancer. When I began to look for love again I met a young Filipina in the U.S. that was ironically 33 years younger and dated her for a few months until she started pressuring me to marry. I had no interest in remarrying at the time and we split up. She is now married to another Anglo and has a child and I’m happy that she has found what she was looking for. Subsequently I traveled to PI and met my current wife, 8 years younger, and have been married now for 2 1/2 years. She has three grown independent children and she has truly been a blessing. We split our time between the states and Luzon.

another good talk paul. I can relate to lot of what you say and have said over the last few months I have been following you. I have been following a lot of vloggers for the last 7 years and enjoy your content and one other one more than the others. I am very happy with my relationship with my filipina who is 23 years younger than myself. I waited 3 years til I hopped on a plane to meet her in person as I was never planning to meet a woman so far away but found her to be very down to earth and funny and smart as well as beautiful inside and out. I consider living there when I retire in October and like a lot about the relationship and the easy life compared to usa but there are some things that are hard to adjust to like jeepneys, trikes, and not flush toilets. Keep up the good work and glad you are getting monetized. I know you don't do it for the money but glad you are getting little something to help mae with her business ventures as well. Paul, another great video. In my opinion, back in the day there were young guys at the bases of Clark Air Base and Subic BAY Naval Base who were more responsible and did find serious relationships with the local women. Obvious since the closings of those bases things have change. Now the men are generally older like me starting to get closer to retirement age (I am 57). Now these young bucks of today who go there (Philippines) all they want is to clown around for the most part. Plus in my opinion the study income from things like social security and other programs for the older men are not there for young bucks. This is very problematic for them to exist in a stable environment without a secure stable retirement income. So, I believe that many of the Filipina females find out that they had wasted their time by trying to get with the young guys in general. Now older guys like us Paul generally still appreciate beautiful woman but, we do keep it real and try to just keep one by our side as compared to the young bucks who think they are playboys. I agree Paul, as I have gotten older, I am more tamed in certain areas (physical) even though you still love to dabble in the physical too. I am glad that I was in the Philippines when I was in the military in 1991 at age 31 and got rid of the lust qualities then. Now, I think I could plan to go back and just want to retire because, my income would be plentiful there. If I am blessed which I think I would be to attain a relationship, then I know I would be more of a companion partner instead of a lust partner like I was back in the day. Thanks again Paul for all the great information.

Hi @daviddarden1915 😊 Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and experiences! It's great to hear that you have a more mature and realistic approach to relationships now compared to when you were younger. 💕 It's important to keep things in perspective and prioritize stability and mutual respect in any romantic partnership. I'm glad to hear that you've had positive experiences with Filipina women and are open to the possibility of finding a meaningful connection with someone there. 😊 If you have any other questions or insights, feel free to share them!

Great, sensible video! Your humor reminds me of a time when a lady went to see the doctor. She finally gets in his treatment room, takes off all her clothes and lays down on the table. Paul, If you don't mind me ask question: Do you completely living in Philippines without having a back up plan in the US such as Health Insurance for just in case? Also I would like to ask more questions but it may not be appropriate to put them here. Is it possible to contact you via email? Thank you.

Hi @jkbc Thank you for your question! Yes, I do have a back-up plan in the US when it comes to health insurance. As a US citizen living in the Philippines, I make sure to maintain my US health insurance coverage while also having local Philippine insurance. It's important to have a backup plan in case of any medical emergencies. And yes, you can reach me via email at. Look forward to hearing from you!

I think the key is just to reduce stress. Pick a nation, there are a ton of them out there. OR find some land here in the US.....get off grid and become self sustaining. Nothing more satisfying than that. I lived in Mexico years ago and my biggest regret is returning permanently here and getting back on the proverbial treadmill.
@paulinthephilippinesolddog92348 ай бұрын
Hi @davidhutchinson5233 Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Reducing stress and finding a nation or land to live off the grid are great options for expats looking for a more relaxed lifestyle. It's great that you have experience living in Mexico and can share your insights with our audience. 😊

What’s your take on retiring on Boracay Island Ph🇵🇭🤔...
@paulinthephilippinesolddog92348 ай бұрын
Hi @doncena8880 "Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts! Boracay is definitely a popular choice for retirement, but there are many other beautiful islands and communities in the Philippines that can offer a great quality of life as well. We've been living in Dumaguete for a few years now and have found it to be an amazing place to settle down. The cost of living is relatively low, the people are friendly, and there are plenty of activities and communities to keep us engaged. 😊"

Great video Paul, I agree with it all 100%. We think alike about many things, maybe it’s an age thing. The dirty old man, or sex pat thing is just trotted out by people either with no personal experience, or people who have had a bad experience with women. Men like that don’t settle with one girl, and build a relationship and improve her life, they just find as many as they can and don’t get involved with any of them. Some people refuse to believe that a younger girl can love an older guy, but it happens and often. Filipinas often see past a guys looks, and love him for having a good heart, being loving caring and faithful. In other words, they love him for who he is, not just for his looks. A lot of them have been burnt by the younger good looking guys. You treat them well, they will treat you well, unlike Western women.

Hi Paul, I haven't been to Philippines yet, but been to Thailand.How do you compare the amount of heat and humidity between the two countries? And how do you ,deal with it?
@paulinthephilippinesolddog92348 ай бұрын
Hi @naderayrom596 Thanks for your comment! Yeah, the heat and humidity in the Philippines can be pretty intense, especially during the summer months. It's definitely a challenge, but I've found ways to cope like staying hydrated, dressing appropriately, and taking breaks in cooler spaces. Thailand can also be hot and humid, so it's interesting to hear your comparison!
