I just started watching Miss Phyllis about 7 months ago. I love her videos and was so sorry when Mr. Bucky passed and she declined in health. As a tribute to her life since she passed, I'm catching up and watching her videos. She was amazing. I learned so much from this one alone. God bless you Miss Phyllis. You will live on through these wonderful videos.

I can't believe I only saw her cooking videos and missed all of the one's like this. I have watched so many in 2 days since I found out about Mr. Bucky and her passing. 💜
@gardensofthegods5 жыл бұрын
Guess what ? I only just discovered her two days ago . I was looking at her video about the lime Jell-O and cream cheese dessert , the second video was the one of her introducing herself ... the third one I saw after that was where she explains she has not been feeling good and needs to get surgery on her liver . I started reading the comments on the third one where people were saying she's going in for surgery today . And then I saw a couple comments where people were asking how she's been since the surgery . And then I saw a comment , somebody said rest in peace . I just couldn't believe it ... plus I saw they had made a comment about her joining Bucky in heaven.... so then I looked at the more recent ones with her son talking about her death and then the ones where she talks about what happened after the surgery and how Mr Bucky died . So it was weird looking at them after I knew she died.... have you seen the ones in the category of stories ? Like the one about the rooster or the turtle or the black snake or how she and Mr Bucky met ? I like Phyllis and Mr Bucky a lot..... but I do wish I had discover them earlier

@@brenda9265 yeah it's kind of strange discovering someone only to find out they already no longer exist in the physical world on this channel . I watched all the vids as far as I know where they're talking about other things not related to cooking .... and then I did watch a few more recipes . It was strange watching them talk about building their little home knowing that they probably never really got to enjoy it . According to what I've watched I don't think they ever got to finish building it I could be wrong .
@gardensofthegods5 жыл бұрын
@@brenda9265 also maybe 2 yrs ago I was looking at vids of a couple living in an rv for travel ; he also had a scooter . Weird things started to happen like they had bad luck following them ... lightning hit their truck and their RV... some of the electrical appliances in the RV weren't working.. then more bad luck.... different things went wrong . And then they were on the scooter right after seeing the total eclipse of the Sun in the Carolinas . And then all of the sudden I'm reading comments ...people saying REST IN PEACE.....! He died that weekend when somebody hit their scooter from behind ? I think he died instantly ... his girlfriend was in the hospital w serious injuries . I couldn't believe it... I had only just started watching their videos that evening , watched for maybe 3 hours. ? They're talking about their life they're showing their dogs , their dreams , future plans and then bam ! The whole time I was watching his videos the poor guy , I think he was in his thirties.... the poor guy was dead .... it was the weirdest feeling .and saddest thing ! .
@gardensofthegods5 жыл бұрын
@@brenda9265 sorry that one was really long... don't know if you'll read it all but the guys channel is Road Warrior.... and then at one point everything started going wrong for them a lot of bad luck .... this video is the solar eclipse.... then you see comments about him dying when their moped was hit from behind . They had one titled something like we were struck by lightning | hurricane Emily storm . Anyway there were other weird things like as if death was stalking them and another strange thing right before he died .

It's amazing the things we do when we age. Really, things we'd never even think about doing when we were younger. I get computers people are throwing away, rebuild them and give them to disabled people so they can get on the internet and communicate with the world. Would I have ever gone up to someone's house and asked if I could have something out of their trash when I was younger? Oh no. There are seven computers here right now that either have been repaired, are in repair/rebuild process or "ain't got to it yet". There's only been one person who actually later on asked how their broken computer did and when I told them it worked like a new one, the look on his face was crestfallen. He said "you mean you fixed that? I took it in for repair and they couldn't do anything with it." Well, the long and short of it is this -- when ya gotta make do, you can make do very well. Cheers to you Phyllis and Mr. Bucky! I doubt I would have been brave enough to admit to dumpster diving on a youtube! Ya gave this old "trash day" gal some courage! :)

This is amazing. Can you believe that when I was six my mom used to go dumpster diving for fresh fruits and veggies. She came to America and was working as a maid and we were living in a room so we never had any extras. Mom would finish her cleaning jobs and go to the grocery stores and would request to get the bruised tomatoes and the nectarines and peaches. Can I tell you that I learned a lot about saving from this. Yes, we were not rich, but we happy with our lightly bruised veggies and fruits. So, I can truly say that the experience has taught me to waste not and to cherish everything! Thanks for sparking these priceless moments. Keep Sharing Love you much! Please tell Mr. Bucky I said Hello.

This was a very inspiring and informational video. So many people are living lifestyles way beyond what they can afford, then wonder why they're in financial trouble. Just today I had a call from a friend who wanted my opinion on whether to get Social Security at 62 or wait until 65. He said he was running into financial trouble on several different fronts. I suggested he cut back on his lifestyle. He has a trip to Hawaii planned and he eats out virtually every lunch. He golfs, attends concerts and just finished losing a lot of money in day trading. He said that his cat had gotten sick, and it cost about $1,200 by the time it was over. He said if another cat of his got sick, he wouldn't be able to afford it. I told him he cannot have it both ways, and that he would have to get real about where his priorities lie. I have had to do the same thing, and have lived a frugal existence for a long time. Just because you have the "extra" money only means you should save it, not spend it. Tomorrow you could fall and break your leg, be out of work with no insurance, or get in a car wreck. It happens. But people resist this , as it's "no fun." Well, either is moving back to your parent's house, or moving in with your kids, because you can't afford yourself any more, and there are no savings. Thanks again for a great video. Frugality is an art.

I used to dumpster dive when I lived in upscale complexes in suburbs of Chicago. Rich people throw away really nice things! I sold these finds at large area flea markets and came home with a 100% profit. I would repair electronics,appliances,refinish furniture and many other items that needed some tweaking/improvement. I loved dumpster diving! I live in a quiet country town now, so not much for good finds here. So I can relate to "Dumpster Diving"!

So very interesting. My husband retired at 67 and he didn’t know what to do. His work had been his life. He loved to travel and I’d done enough so I would send him off on interesting rail journeys and map out routes for him to drive to. This kept him happy for a year or so. After two years of retirement he had a heart attack. I had read years earlier that men often had a heart attack two years into retirement so that was why he didn’t retire at 65. This is such an interesting subject I hope I can find the next two videos.

This is SUCH AN EXCELLENT VIDEO!!!! Most people don't know how much they spend on all these things. My family has next to no money every month but it is mostly okay because we are not shopping crazy, or restaurant addicted. None of us need cable. There are things we'd like to watch, but much of it can be sen on Netflix, Amazon, KZbin... etc. I purchase basic Netflix because they do watch on it and it is also great for researching historical events. The Dumpster diving admission is amazing. Most places throw out perfectly good produce because the FDA says it is out of date. I was able to get 20#s of kale and a ton of other stuff that had NEVER MADE IT OUT OF THE FRIDGE.... because of the date. I canned and dehydrated 90% of it before it went bad. I gave a ton of it away and just didn't have enough time or dehydrators to save all of it. AND Composting is AWESOME! I have two composters and they were very busy. Since then the store I used to get stuff from decided it wasn't okay... UGH. WASTE. Thank You for such a great video. I know you are gone but this is an amazing tribute to your legacy. I want to show this to my Mom. She's having some different issues but I'm sure she'll enjoy this since she had to do the same. :D Thank You again. Thank you to the family who keeps these going.

Look forward to hearing more on the tiny house. I took care of my mom for many years through alzheimers. When she passed I could no longer afford our mortgage payment. Sold our beloved home, bought another in a less desirable city. No mortgage, never had cable or dish. Use Netflix or movies from the library. No internet. It feels great to be debt free but hate where I am living. I coupon and grow food for my self, family and our community. We can all be debt free if we want it bad enough. Ms. Phyllis, I love your stories, you are very much like myself.

I love your doggies and how you tell the real truth about how to do things and how to get along with your partner even during times when your ideas or his might be a little different!

Sorry to hear about mr. Bucky and my prayers are with you and your health problems. The internet is an amazing place and sometimes confusing two people our age but it is also amazing how it brings us together. Our lives are dreams and shared tears. Let us know how you're doing

I was homeless 3 months and got bread, cakes, pies, eggs and sometimes cool milk from the dumpster once a week behind Whites in JC, TN Many people dont realize eggs usually dont spoil if they dont get too warm. Getting fired sucks. lol. I survived!

When you say you were homeless did you live in your car ?... did you camp out ? Is there any way you could tell us what you did
@zippycampbell51554 жыл бұрын
@@gardensofthegods there are some sites on living in a car on you tube..I hopped trains ( don't do this lol) but I lived in a van and now live in a rv it's easy if you plan and look for good parking places don't look obvious if that makes sense I hope you are well 😊

love this video . We just bought a nest and our electric and gas company gave us a $50.00 rebate on our Electric and Gas so we received $100.00 rebate. I bought it on ebay for $140.00 so the cost was $40.00. That is only the beginning because we can control the heat and cold from where ever we are at. Saved lots of money .

Phyllis, it seems like ya’ll didn’t move from your historic home. Did you ever do the Tiny House? Maybe decided to make it a second home?
